Opportunities

January 19, 2021

Witnessing to people is more difficult today than it has been in the past. Social distancing, masks and fear of contracting illness has kept us from talking to others.

Normal places to witness like a grocery store, waiting for an appointment or any public place has become almost impossible.

As a Christian, what can we do? Take advantage of every opportunity. Freely give out tracts. Put them in a restroom, in letters that you send out. Use email, phone calls or any form of communication to tell people about Jesus. If you are able to join SOS Events and go to an event to witness.

Be creative. Think of ways you can tell others about the gospel. It is our responsibility to be a witness for the Lord Jesus.

Just Passing Through

January 18, 2021

There is a Christian song, ” This World is Not My Home, I’m just passing through.” We as Christians are traveling through life in this world. Sometime we have joys, hardships and challenges. Just like traveling for vacation, business or family occasions, trips can have ups and downs. Once our trip is over and we return home we are happy that our travels are over.

The same holds true on our journey toward heaven. What a joy that will be when we finally reach our Heavenly home. So as we travel through life keep our destination in mind. Joy awaits us in Heaven.

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Have a Blessed Sunday

January 17, 2021

“Just sayin’…Church is important. Gathering together as a group of believers is important. Encouragement from the Word and other believers is important. I’m not sure where you are today. Maybe you are tired…be renewed at church. Maybe you are depressed…be uplifted at church. Maybe you are discouraged by the church itself…be reconciled at church. Maybe you have lost your way…be directed at church. Church…Christ died for it. It’s important. Be thankful if you have a choice of church today. Some people do not have a church they have a choice to attend. You do. Be thankful. Go to church. It’s important.” Joy Bowker Crockett

Quote from the wife of a Pastor. She has so much truth and wisdom that her comments are worth reposting. Thank you, Joy.

Ephesians 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Psalms 70:4 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified

Wait!!

January 14, 2021

One of the hardest things to do is wait.

In the waiting room at a hospital, waiting for news of a loved one who is in surgery or had a life threatening accident.

Waiting for the birth of a baby and the labor seems to go on too long.

Waiting for an exciting event. An engagement or a wedding.

Many times in our lives we have things when we have to wait for various events and we get anxious about the outcome. Our heart beats faster and we feel like we can’t breathe.

Take a deep breath. The Bible tells us to be of good courage, God is with us no matter what the circumstance.

A Bible Verse To Encourage You

Pray For Your Pastor

January 10, 2021

The coronavirus has caused many problems for Pastors. Each Pastor has many decisions to make that involve not only his family but the people in his congregation.

As the churches begin to open again, it is the Pastors responsibility to keep people safe, give everyone encouragement and most importantly preach the gospel.

Pray for your Pastor today. Tell him or send him a note to be an encouragement to him.

1 Timothy 5:17 – Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Romans 15:30 – Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in [your] prayers to God for me;

The Answer for Distress

January 8, 2021

Sometimes we feel that our world is in chaos. Maybe the news is depressing, we may have problems in our family, illness or surgery is taking a toll on us. Whatever the circumstances, there is one thing we can look to for peace and comfort.

God’s Word tells us that He is with us, He will help us no matter what we are going through. Look to Jesus today for comfort and strength.

The Weather

January 6, 2021

One thing we all have in common, the weather. Wherever you live, north, south, east or west, our days are somewhat controlled by weather.

Some love the cold of winter, you may dislike it, some people love the heat of summer and others hate to be hot.

Whatever, climate we live in, we find something to talk about to others. The weather. We may complain about the cold or heat and only on rare occasions would we say what a beautiful day!

Another thing we all have in common is our need for forgiveness for our sins. It would be wonderful if we would talk freely to others about Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection. He is the answer to our biggest need, no matter what the weather is in the world.

Let us talk about Him as freely as we talk about the weather.

Luke 8:23–25 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
