August 11, 2018In our Christian lives, we go through trials. It may be physical, financial, or spiritual. God does not promise a pain-free life to the Christian. He does promise that He will go through every trial with us. He tells us that the rain falls on the just and the unjust. He can use the problems we face to help others. We do not understand and sometimes even question his purpose. But God does want to use us to help others in the same type of situation. We have a choice, we can get better or bitter. Which do you choose?
Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
The Powerful Word
August 4, 2018The Lord’s Word will not return void. The Word of God is alive and powerful.
Erwin W. Lutzer wrote a great illustration from the book Yesterday, Today, and Forever, The Word of God in the Life of His People for the verse, Jeremiah 23:29.
“An angry young man stood at the back of a train and threw the new Bible his mother gave him as far as he could. Yet months later he returned, repentant that he had mistreated God’s Book. He learned that the damaged Bible had fallen into the hands of a child who read it and was converted. Now both met as brothers in Christ; the one as a restored believer, the other as a newly converted twelve-year-old. What other book can soften the heart of an angry man and convert a child? Only the Bible.

Praise for 24 Decisions
July 30, 2018Thank you to part of the Florida SOS Team for taking time out on a Saturday to share the plan of salvation to families attending the YMCA Camp Cristina Back Pack Event July 28th in Riverview. We praise the Lord for 24 more souls that are now 100% sure they will go to heaven. Thank you to the coordinators of this event for the invitation to come.
As you see in the picture below, the display board says, “See Three Things God Cannot Do“. For those of you who do not know the ministry of Event Evangelism / SOS Events Ministry I would like to share what those 3 things are.
1) God Cannot Lie Titus 1:2 (God loves you)
2) God Cannot Change Malachi 3:6 (If God loves you and He cannot lie, how long will He love you?)
3) God Cannot Let Anyone Into Heaven Unless They Are Born Again John 3:3-5 (Are you 50%, 75% or 100% sure you would go to Heaven if you died today?)
YOU can be 100% sure. According to Scripture it is as simple as the ABC’s…
A – Admit that YOU have sinned. Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
B – Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth… and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him (Jesus) from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
C – Call upon the Lord. Romans 10:13, “For whosoever (you) shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.”
If you are not 100% sure and would like to be, here is a simple prayer to call on the Lord to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your Savior. “Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner, I believe you died on the cross for forgiveness of my sins, I ask that you forgive my sins, come into my heart and make my life new. I receive you as my Savior. Thank you. Jesus. Amen.”

Trust and Obey
July 19, 2018Some of our old hymns and songs of the faith are being lost in this generation. Let us try to keep the messages alive with the old music along with the new. A great message in one of them is “Trust and Obey” was written by John H. Sammis in 1887. Read the words and you will not want this message to be lost:
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Do Christians Face Tragedy?
July 18, 2018Another sad news story of Christians facing tragedy was posted on Facebook today: “Pray for the ministry of New Life Baptist in Clinton NC. They were headed here to the youth conference and blew a tire. The driver’s young daughter passed away. Others injured, expected to recover.” God does not promise life without trials to the Christian, what He does promise is that He will be with us and comfort us through the trial. If you know someone who is facing a trial in their life today, please pray for them and see if you can be used of God to comfort them. Remember the people who are affected by this bus accident and the Moody Aviation plane crash. Please pray for them.
2 Corinthians 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
