Electricity is so important to our way of living that if the power goes out we have a problem functioning. The SOS Events office was closed yesterday and today because of electrical problems that needed to be resolved. The whole property including 2 offices, workshop and Curtis home was without electricity. No work could be done so nothing was accomplished.
As Christians we have a source of Power in our lives to get things done. That Power is the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, the power gets shut off because of sin, indifference or disobedience. Spiritually, nothing gets done. No souls are won because we don’t witness, prayers are not answered because we don’t pray and the worst thing,we have no fellowship with our Savior, Jesus. If our Power is damaged, let’s get it repaired. Repent and renew our relationship with the Lord. Ask His forgiveness. He is waiting to restore the Power in our lives.
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

February is the month we think about Love. Some of us have a wonderful love story and others have only heartache and disappointment in love, but for all of us there is Someone who loves us more than we can ever imagine. God loves us so much He sent His Only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross so we can have eternal life. There is no greater love.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

How was your month? Most of us have had many days of cold weather and our soul winning opportunities were few. Do not be discouraged. It is a great time to plan for warmer weather. Looking for future events? Look on line to your local Chamber of Commerce. Many events are free or of low cost to a non profit organization. SOS Events qualifies. You have to go shopping, hand out a tract or witness to the person in the checkout line. When you mail a letter, put a tract in it. Witness whenever and wherever you can. February starts tomorrow. New month, new opportunities. Let us spread the message of God’s love.
1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Tracts are very effective. Many Christians have been saved reading a tract, either along with someone witnessing or them or picking one up and reading it on their own. Carolyn Curtis is a good example. She was given a tract the morning she was on the way to Niagara Falls to end her life. While getting up the courage to jump in, she read the tract, prayed the prayer on the back and was gloriously saved. Since that time many have come to the Lord through her witness. One tract can change a life. You can be the one to give a tract to someone in person, leave one in the restroom at a store restaurant or any public place. Put one in a library book, in a shoe box at a shoe store. Be creative. Think of a place to leave a tract and pray someone will find it who needs the Lord. It is a life changing opportunity.
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

On a cold stormy day, we do not feel like doing anything but stay inside, wrap in a warm fuzzy blanket and do nothing. When storms of life happen, we feel the same way. Just stay inside, wrap up in our sorrow and pain and do nothing. Our attitude reflects the storm, however, God tells us to behave differently in those circumstances. He is with us, will not forsake us and gives us the strength to go on to serve Him.
Isaiah 49:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Psalms 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
Psalms 138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Our lives are so dependent on electricity, that when there is a power outage we have trouble doing ordinary things. No light, no coffee, no heat or air conditioning. No communication on social media. We feel helpless. The worst thing is the darkness. Then we light a candle. One small candle in a big room, but it gives light so we can see!
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. He is the one that gives us true light. Once I was blind but now I can see, spiritually.
Our responsibility is to let the light of the gospel shine through us, so others may hear and be able to “see” the truth of the way of salvation. You may think that you will not do much, but remember the one little candle that lights a whole room. Let us shine for Jesus.

These two girls are students at Zephyrhills High School. They came to the Pigz in Z’Hillz Festival to have a good time. Interested in the 3 Things God Can Not Do, they came and talked to Dena, who led them to the Lord, using the A B C’s of salvation. These girls did not know when they came to this event that they would leave knowing that they would go to Heaven.
SOS Events volunteers have the joy and privilege to lead people to the Lord. Many of the workers are retired, like Dena and her husband, Glen, but they continue to Serve Our Savior faithfully. SOS Events goal is to spread the gospel to as many people as possible. You could share in the joy of seeing people’s lives changed by volunteering to work with SOS Events. You will receive training, encouragement and everything you need to become a witness and soul winner, not only at events but in your everyday life. Come join us.
Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Sunday School isn’t just for kids. It is a time when we can learn more about Jesus and Christian living. We have opportunity to get to know people better and make lasting friendships. Don’t send your kids to Sunday School. Go with them and join in a class where you can grow in Christ.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Today in the USA we see politicians , political parties, congressmen and women not able to come to agreement on several issues. The problem is not politics, the problem is the lack of wisdom from the source that could bring unity. Trust in God and decisions based on the Bible. The first President of the United States, George Washington, knew where to seek wisdom as he stated. If all of the people in government would seek the wisdom of God and stop the hate and fighting, we could see peace and unity once again.
As Christians it is our responsibility pray for our leaders, even if we do not agree with them or their agenda.
I Timothy 2:1&2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty
