All Will Face Judgement
June 29, 2020
This is a powerful verse in the Bible. ALL of us will face judgement. Who is the judge? JESUS. Have you trusted him as Lord and Savior in your life?
Simeon
December 26, 2019The Christmas story did not end with the birth of Jesus. That was just the beginning. The Bible records little about baby Jesus. We know He was taken to the temple to be dedicated to the Lord when Mary’s time of purification was over as the law of Moses commanded. A sacrifice of a pair of turtle doves or two young pigeons.
While at the temple Mary and Joseph met two people. Today we will talk about Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying,
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. Luke 2:29-32
15 Years Later…
October 3, 2019At an event recently, a woman saw the SOS Events display board with a little red tag in the corner. She was so excited. In 2004, Tom and Carolyn Curtis went to her church to present the ministry and she never for got the “3 Things God Can Not Do”. When she realized that Carolyn was the one that was talking to her, she went to get her husband and 3 friends meet the cofounder of the ministry. All 5 of them have the desire to become a new team with SOS Events. An answer to prayer 15 years after meeting. We never know when our sowing will bear fruit.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
God’s Timing
October 2, 2019About one year ago, Diana, SOS Events office manager, noticed new neighbors moving in down the road from the office. She stopped to welcome them and proceeded to tell them about Jesus. The grandmother with several of her grandchildren made decisions to follow Jesus. Time passed and nothing seemed to happen. But…on Saturday Diana got a call from this grandmother asking if her adult son could visit Diana’s church. Sunday morning David did go to church, the Pastor led him to the Lord. He was back in church Sunday night and yesterday stopped by the office with his 10 year old son, Daveion. Diana not letting an opportunity pass, led Daveion to the Lord.
Pastor, soul winner, SOS Events volunteers do not get discouraged. Be faithful in witnessing and God will bless in His timing.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Have a Wonderful Sunday!
September 8, 201911 Decisions at a Rodeo
August 19, 2019Friday night at the Clay County Rodeo in Ashland, Alabama, was a great night under the SOS Events Ministry tent!!! God Blessed us greatly with the opportunity to share the Gospel and 7 people accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!!
We had a very special divine appointment with Brandy , she and her family drove 6 hours and are from East Tennessee. She wanted to come to this rodeo for her birthday and was the first person to come by the tent. After showing her the 3 Things God Cannot Do she wanted to be 100% sure that she was going to Heaven. She received the gift of salvation and her life is forever changed.
Thank you Lord for the blessings you gave us with 4 more being reassured of their salvation and now they can have joy in the victory you gave us on the cross.
Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Results After 15 Years
July 11, 2019In the early days of SOS Events Ministry, Tom and Carolyn went to several Church Conferences to promote the ministry. They traveled to Illinois and set up a table with information about SOS Events. Pastors would come to the table and ask to be put on the mailing list.
Yesterday, one of those Pastors, Dale Williams, from Naperville, IL called and wanted a display board and materials to use in an event on August 2&3 this year. He has people in his congregation excited to start witnessing at events. They will take their training online.
One of the goals And prayers of SOS Events is to have teams in every state and God is supplying in wonderful ways. This was a contact made about 15 or 16 years ago. We never know when that contact or witness will bring forth results. The encouragement to you is this, if we keep sowing we will reap if we faint not.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Going Home
May 13, 2019Going home. Vacation over. Time to go home. Sadness because it is over, but joy at the thought of seeing loved ones and getting to our comfortable home. The plane will get us there in just a few hours and there may be delays. Reminds me of our life. We live and then it is time to go “home” to Heaven. Looking back we don’t want to leave but looking forward to seeing Jesus and the ones we love who have gone on before. Jesus will usher us in in immediately after our last breath.
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Be Ready
May 10, 2019One woman and her husband accepted the Lord as their Savior. Before they left the booth, she told the soul winner that when she walked into the building she knew something good was going to happen, she could feel it. Then she gave the soul winner a hug.
The Holy Spirit will prepare a person’s heart to accept Him but if the soul winner isn’t prepared or willing to share then that person will either not accept the Lord that day or the Lord will find someone else that can share the good news with them.
Why not let that person be you, the one that shares?
2 Timothy 4:2 (KJV) says, Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
