Thankful for Jesus

November 20, 2016

Another day to give thanks to God for the blessings He gives us. The biggest blessing is that He loves us so much He sent Jesus to be our Savior. Not only did Jesus die on the cross so we can be saved but He is our friend, guide, companion and He said He will never leave us or forsake us. With grateful heart I am thankful for Jesus.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Forgotten Holiday

November 19, 2016

It is a few days before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, this holiday has been almost forgotten in America today. It gets lost between Halloween and Christmas as commercialism has taken over this true and only American Holiday. The pilgrims stopped to give thanks to God for safety and provisions as they survived a perilous journey and a very hard time getting started in a new land. Many did loose their lives but the remaining people knew it was God who allowed them to survive.

Take time in these coming days before Thanksgiving to stop and be thankful to God for a specific thing each day. Let us not get into the trap of using this special holiday to just eat turkey and look for the shopping deals. Thank the Lord for His bountiful blessings.

2 Corinthians 9:11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

Without Him

November 18, 2016

SOS Events is blessed to have some wonderful people who are trainers and missionaries with the ministry. Yesterday a group from Florida and Alabama (via a conference call) met to discuss and plan how to update the way we train people to be soul winners. It is wonderful to be able to work together to improve and see the ministry grow. In 15 years since SOS Events was founded, the ministry has grown from 2 people, Tom and Carolyn Curtis, to over 50 trainers and hundreds of workers in the USA and beyond. That has resulted in over 50,000 people who have been saved and on their way to Heaven.

The future is even brighter, thanks to the dedicated trainers who are willing to meet and make suggestions how to improve SOS Events and have even more souls saved in the next 15 years should the Lord tarry. Please pray for the leaders, missionaries and trainers that we will trust in the Lord and depend on the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us to even greater blessings in the years to come; for without Him we can do nothing.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Office Salvations

November 17, 2016

Personal soul winning is a great blessing. The staff of SOS Events not only work at events but when someone comes into the office they usually do not leave without hearing the gospel. This week 2 people came by to do community service. The ministry needs workers and this is a good way to help someone who has been in trouble or maybe a student that is required to work doing community service before the graduate. Diana talked to the young woman who was happy to accept the Lord when she heard the ABC’s of salvation. Then a day later, a man who started to work, talked to Carolyn and he also accepted the Lord. God sends the right people to us who have a desire to be saved and their ability to work is an answer to prayer.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Peace

Pray for peace to the only One who can give it, Jesus.

Precious Saint

November 15, 2016

Ruby Mack, a faithful Senior Servant with SOS Events Ministry went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2016. She was born November 19, 1919 and would have been 97 had she reached her birthday. She was a great blessing to SOS Events and never missed a monthly meeting until she became to ill to attend. She was the sweetest, dedicated Christian and was loved by all the ladies in Senior Servants. Ruby had the most beautiful smile, never complained and was a diligent worker. She will be missed but remembered fondly.

Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

A Salvation Story

November 14, 2016

One of the blessings of a soul winner at an event is this salvation story: A mother and her son came over to the SOS Events booth and neither of them were 100% sure they were going to Heaven. They decided to sit down and make sure they knew how to be saved.

After hearing the ABC’s of Salvation they were ready to pray and invite Jesus to be their Savior. While they were listening, the Husband, who had been looking around, came over and heard also, but no one had noticed him standing a little way off. When it was time to pray instead of two voices, there were 3 voices praying to receive Christ. What joy when a whole family comes to know the Lord together. The SOS Events workers were happy and the family left the booth rejoicing.

Psalms 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

God is Faithful

November 13, 2016

On Saturday two of SOS Events workers set up a booth at a yard sale hosted by the Faith Riders (a Christian motorcycle group) in Plant City. It was an event that was not on the calendar but the opportunity came up unexpectedly. At first things did not go well. The canopy was set up only to discover that whoever used it last did not put the canvas cover in the bag with the frame. So there was no shelter for the workers or the people who came by to hear the gospel. Flexibility is the key to ministry, being resourceful, the tables and displays were set up on the parking lot.

The event was not busy and for several hours no one stopped by the SOS Events display except a few Christians that had come to the yard sale. What to do? Quit and go home or stay until the event was over. God loves His servants to continue so the decision was made to stay. Praying for souls and being faithful, God saw the desire to please Him and sent eight people over to be saved. God is faithful and rewards our efforts when we do not give up.

1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

New Hispanic Worker

November 12, 2016

SOS Events is blessed to have a new Hispanic worker at the Plant City Flea Market on Wednesdays. This past week Elsa worked with Alice and Randy and seven decisions were recorded. This Flea Market is attended by many Spanish speaking people and God now has provided 2 workers, Elsa and William, who can speak the language. Praise the Lord for these 2 soul winners and for the people who have been saved.

1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

Veterans Day 2016

Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
