Our 15 years of marriage has been special with trials and learning experiences for Carolyn & I. God allows trails to increase our faith. We look back and can see what GOD has done. Carolyn loves me & I love her and GOD loves us, nothing can stop GOD as He leads, guides and directs us and the Ministry. We both enjoy all God has provided. The ministry has brought love joy & peace to many including Carolyn & myself. Pray that SOS Events ministry will grow in 2016 so we can reach thousands more of hurting people who do not know Jesus Christ. We need motivated people who have GREAT faith. Let us pray Christ will remove evil from, GOVERNMENT,SCHOOLS, BUSINESS & HOMES. Motivation is how it starts you must be a Christian & the Spirit must live in you. Pray for our military. Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines. These men and women need prayer for protection as they serve all over the world. Also, pray for them to hear the Gospel and that the Christians in the military will be witnesses for Christ to their fellow servicemen.
2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Power of Prayer
January 10, 2016“We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little. Many services, but few conversions; much machinery, but few results.” – R.A. Torrey
Unfortunately many churches today are like the quote by R. A. Torrey, they have many services, few conversions and few results. This is a good way to evaluate a church.
Prayer meeting is the key. Is it just another service or activity or do people actually pray. Unfortunately in many churches, prayer meeting has become a midweek service. Much activity but no prayer. You can have a part in changing that and bring power back into your church. How?
Start with prayer yourself, everyday pray for your Pastor, church leaders, Sunday School teachers. Teach your children and grandchildren to pray. Get a small group or even one friend and while others go to activities you spend that time in sincere prayer. Our churches need power not programs. Action not activity. More service not services.
If you have been guilty of prayerlessness, confess that to God, ask forgiveness and start today to make prayer the most important part of your day. Let us be part of the solution to bring power into our local church.
2 Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
Need Dirctions?
January 9, 2016Many verses in the Bible help us in our daily walk with the Lord. Proverbs 3:5&6 are two of the verses that give us direction.
These verses tell us to Trust in the Lord no matter what the circumstances. Trust Him. Then acknowledge Him by telling others of His goodness. He promises to give us good direction in our lives. Sometimes we have to wait awhile for His plan for us is made clear but if we keep praying, trusting and don’t give up He will show us what His will is for our lives.
Proverbs 3:5&6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Opportunity for Study
January 8, 2016What a wonderful time of food and fellowship at Evangelical College and Seminary in Plant City, Florida last evening. This gathering was to meet with teachers, students and friends of the school. Dr. Wallace Lont welcomed everyone and Dr.Gary Williams gave a wonderful overview of where we are in God’s plan for the world.
The spring semester begins Monday, January 11. The purpose of ECS is to help believers to develop a deeper understanding of God’s Word and experience God’s transforming power in their lives.
This semester SOS Events will have a part teaching Evangelism and Decipleship on Tuesday mornings starting Tuesday, Januay 12 at 9 am. Tom and Carolyn Curtis will be teaching not only in the classroom but there will be opportunity for witnessing and follow up for each student in the class. This is a great step for SOS Events and a long time answer to prayer as God laid the desire to teach evangelism in Tom and Carolyn’s hearts many years ago.

Good Report
January 7, 2016A good report from Randy Thomas about the Plant City flea market yesterday.
Ten came to Christ today at the Plant City Flea Market. One lives in Nova Scotia and another in Pa. One just arrived from S. Vietnam two months ago. It is amazing how we get to share with people from around the globe. Praise His Name!

The Turtle and the Hare
January 6, 2016Have you ever heard the fable of the turtle and the hare? They were in a race and the rabbit got so far ahead he thought he would rest awhile, but the turtle kept his steady pace passed the rabbit and won the race.
The big events are like the rabbit. Fairs, Strawberry Festival and other events with Thousands of people in attendance. Usually these events will have between 200 to 600 people saved. Praise the Lord.
The Wednesday flea market is like the turtle. Every week faithful workers go early (between 5 and 6 am) in the morning to set up the tent and displays. Sometimes as few as 3 people get saved and some weeks 20 or 30. It all adds up and in 2015 over 750 decisions were recorded.
The turtle just kept on going in a steady pace and won. SOS Events faithful workers just keep on going and God brings blessings to them each week.
SOS is thankful for all events and all workers. Some of our workers will work once or twice a year at the “big” rabbit events but it is the Wednesday “turtle” workers who see the most people make decisions at the end of the year.
Every Christian is in the race. Are you the “turtle” or the “hare”?

Praise the Lord
January 5, 2016Today is a special day for Tom and Carolyn Curtis. It is our 15th Wedding Anniversary. You may not think that is so great but it is really a miracle. Both of us were traveling alone after the loss of our spouses, working for the Lord in different ministries when we met. Tom went to Iowa and I traveled the East coast for a year after we met. Then we worked in a ministry together in Florida for a short time. I had been praying for Tom and about the relationship for the whole year. (Tom had no clue.)
When we married Tom had many health problems and had been told by doctors that he had only 3 years to live. That was back in 1995. He was reluctant to marry in 2001 but God directed him and we have been blessed with a wonderful marriage.
God then led us to begin SOS Events Ministry and in 15 years hundreds of Christians have been trained to serve the Lord, over 60,000 souls have made decisions for Christ and at least 2 other ministries have been started with the training of SOS.
God took two ordinary people and for 15 years has blessed us with a good marriage and a great ministry. So today we Praise the Lord for the blessings He has given and I still believe in miracles.
Psalms 9:1 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
2 Birthdays

Newborn babies are so precious and everyone celebrates. Then every year on their birthday we send birthday wishes, buy presents, maybe have a birthday party. That baby has no choice in their birth.
There is a birthday that we do have a choice. It is the second birth. Everyone needs the second birth to go to Heaven. Jesus told Nicodemus, “You must be born again.”
Do you have 2 birthdays? If you do not, go to the home page and follow the instructions starting with the “3 Things God Can Not Do”.

True Worship
January 3, 2016“Worship in the truest sense takes place only when our full attention is on GOD – on His glory, power, majesty, love and compassion.” – Billy Graham
Are you a true worshiper of God? Our minds tend to wander when we are listening to a sermon, praying or reading scripture. We must give God our full attention when we are coming to Him in worship. Focus on God today and think of what He has done and more importantly who He is.
Psalm 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
