Praise the Lord for the New Durham Chapel Event. 7 children, 1 teen and two adults made the decision to accept our Lord Jesus as their Personal Savior. Two children and one adult received the Assurance of Salvation promised in the Scriptures.

Today when we want to communicate via phone we have freedom to talk (or text) anywhere, anytime without having to be in one place to use the phone as this child in the picture. Prayer is like that. We do not have to be in a specific place only able to speak to God in church or at a designated time of day. God is always ready to hear our prayers directly without any person, place or thing. Jesus is the reason we have a direct line to God.

Churchyard Picnic
April 26, 2017Time to think about fun and soul winning. A great place to have an event is at the church where neighbors can come and meet church members, have fun and fellowship. Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama had a Neighborhood Picnic last weekend and 4 people made decisions to follow Jesus. What a blessing. Now the church will follow up by sending notes and visiting. This is a great way to help your church to grow.
Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Strawberry Festival Ends
March 14, 2017The crowds are gone, the booth is empty and Strawberry Festival is over for another year. There were 233 decisions recorded this year and all who worked in the booth Praise the Lord for His faithfulness bringing in the ones in who needed to be saved.

Great and Mighty Things

God Answers Prayer
February 28, 2017God answers prayer. When you pray do you expect God to answer? Have you been obedient to His word? Do you take time with Him daily?
God loves you if you are born again into His family, He will answer. We love to give gifts to our children. He loves to give to us, as long as we pray in His will. When the answer comes give Him the Praise and Glory.

Tidings of Joy
December 17, 2016Christmas is one week from today. You may be busy with parties, shopping, Christmas programs and all the preparation for your special family traditions. But do not forget the true meaning of Christmas in your busy life.
It is a good thing to read the Christmas story in Luke 2. God gave us the greatest gift of all, salvation through His Son Jesus. Thank you, Father, for sending your Son, Jesus, to be born to die on the cross for our sins.
Our prayer at SOS Events is that everyone we know and people who read the blog will have a wonderful time with family and friends.
To those who of us who have lost loved ones this year it can be a difficult time but God also sent the Holy Spirit to comfort our hearts and bring joy in the times of grief.
Some of you may have no family, but remember you have a friend that sticks closer than a brother and we can have joy in our heart no matter what the circumstance.
God meets every need and we need to Praise Him.

Carolyn’s Thanks
November 23, 2016Tomorrow is a day to give thanks. It’s not the turkey, parade or shopping. It is a day to Praise The Lord for His goodness. I am thankful for my Savior, Jesus. God has blessed in the past year in spite of many trials. I am thankful for all my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and in law family. God has given me the most loving caring family. I am thankful for my 2 sons that now reside in Heaven along and my dear husband, Tom, and many other family members. The pain of not having them here on earth can be excruciating but knowing we will be together again softens the pain. Thank you Lord for the Holy Spirit who gives comfort in the dark times. Friends and workers in SOS are more than I can count. The encouragement from them has been a blessing. If I listed all the Praise to The Lord it would take a volume of chapters so I will just wish to all Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
