October 30, 2016Clean Heart
October 27, 201613 children and 2 parents where are saved at the Hendersonville Christian School fall Festival last evening. SOS events always gets name, address, and age on a decision card for follow-up. Then that convert is asked to write a testimony on the back of the card.
One little girl named Anna, eight years old wrote on the back of her card, “I feel clean.” That is exactly what Jesus does for us when we get saved. He gives us a clean heart.
Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Transformation
October 4, 2016Jesus Paid It All
September 25, 2016This hymn says it all. Written by Elvina Hall.
I hear the Savior say,
“Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.”
Refrain:
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim;
I’ll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.
And now complete in Him,
My robe, His righteousness,
Close sheltered ’neath His side,
I am divinely blest.
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy pow’r, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots
And melt the heart of stone.
When from my dying bed
My ransomed soul shall rise,
“Jesus died my soul to save,”
Shall rend the vaulted skies.
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I’ll lay my trophies down,
All down at Jesus’ feet.
I Peter 1:18&19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
Well Done
September 12, 2016This past week, Rick, Grace and Evie (son-in-law and 2 daughters) helped Carolyn Curtis paint the inside of her home. It was a long tedious job and took an entire week before the job was completed but the work and effort was entirely worth it. The transformation of the home after many years is amazing. A job well done.
When we meet Jesus, He will look at the work we have done for Him here on earth. Will His comment be to you, “Well done, thy faithful servant” or “Depart from me I never knew you”?
Born again Christians have a responsibility to Him to obey and do the work He has called us to do. Unsaved people sometimes do “good works” thinking that is enough to get them into heaven. When I stand before Him, I want to hear, Well Done. How about you?
Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Are You Ready?
September 9, 2016Marriage
September 5, 2016This photo was taken 36 years ago today. Congratulations to Wil and Danielle Slater. They were both only 18 years old and have stayed true to one another and have served the Lord together through many years of happiness and trials. It is a great blessing to see marriages that endure the test of time.
There is another marriage that Christians can look forward to that will last for eternity and that is the “marriage supper of the Lamb”. That is when the bridegroom, Jesus, takes His bride “the church” to be His. The church is all New Testiment Christians who have trusted in Jesus to be their Savior. What a glorious wedding feast that will be. Are you going to the Wedding?
Revelation 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Caught Up
August 13, 2016 Caught Up Together
I sing hallelujah that Jesus is coming, Oh what the raising of life from the dead: the graves bursting open to give up God’s children, those bodies long moldering in graves dusty bed.
Chorus: Caught up together, together, caught up with Jesus and never to part; changed in a moment to be with my Savior, caught up together never to part.
John R. Rice
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Forgiveness
August 2, 2016“Forgiveness is an act of the will, and the will can function regardless of the temperature of the heart.” Corrie ten Boom
Jesus said, Matthew 6:14-15. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
