John 19:17 & 18 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
It is so easy to get distracted by things that are beyond our control. If our attention is on the news, we can become fearful.
Everywhere we look there is something that can cause us to take our eyes off Jesus and live in fear and uncertainty, but we have promises in God’s Word that He is with us, He has everything in control and He is with us through any situation.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10
Jesus has a busy day after His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. He went into the temple and cast out the money changers and merchants, who had turned the place of worship into a marketplace.
Then He was walking with His disciples and saw a fig tree with no figs. He then made the fig tree wither so it never again would bear fruit.
Do we ever do anything in our lives to cause Jesus to be displeased with us? Christian, think about it. Jesus loves us and our salvation is secure if we have accepted Him as our Savior, however, we can do things in our lives that may cause Jesus displeasure. Today, let us confess our sins. He is faithful and just to forgive our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Si confesamos nuestros pecados, él es fiel y justo para perdonar nuestros pecados, y limpiarnos de toda maldad. 1 Juan 1:9
While traveling, Carolyn Curtis and her daughter were not on a main highway but going through a small town when the phone rang.
A white work truck was following behind her. On the back of Carolyn’s car is this written: DO YOU KNOW 3 THINGS GOD CAN NOT DO? and Carolyn’s cell phone number.
Carolyn usually does not answer unknown callers but felt that she should answer this one.
A man said, “What are the 3 Things GOD Cannot do?”
Carolyn explained, GOD Can Not Lie, GOD Can Not Change and GOD Can Not Let Anyone into Heaven unless he is born again.
After a little more conversation, both Aiden and Howie, the 2 men in the truck, prayed and ask Jesus to be their Savior.
Both men will receive a Bible Study and will continue to learn more about their new faith.
It is a good thing to obey the still small voice that had Carolyn answer that phone call.
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23
Lucas 14:23 – Y dijo el señor al siervo: Vé por los caminos y por los vallados, y fuérza[los] á entrar, para que se llene mi casa.
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:11
y toda lengua confiese que Jesucristo es el Señor, para gloria de Dios Padre. Filipenses 2:11
In devotions today I realized that GOD cares about individual names. Then, I thought, Jesus name above all names. His name is the most important name we can know. Not just a name but Him personally.
On Thursday the office staff of SOS Events had the privilege of celebrating Val’s birthday. There was good food, fellowship and gifts for her.
The greatest thing is that she has 2 birthdays. Here physical birth and her spiritual birth. The first was when she came into the world as a baby, the second when she accepted Jesus as her Savior and was born again.
Do you have 2 birthdays?
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3
Respondió Jesús y le dijo: De cierto, de cierto te digo, que el que no naciere de nuevo, no puede ver el reino de Dios. Juan 3:3
