Friday Blessings

June 13, 2018You may be from a very large family or a small one, but being part of a family is a great blessing. Family sticks together through good times and bad. Someone is there to be with you to join in laughter or tears. Siblings have a special bond that should last for a lifetime. Maybe you are an only child or have had what seems to be an unrepairable disagreement with a family member. Good news! If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are in the family of God and you have a friend that is closer than a brother. Jesus is with you always and you can go to Him with your joys and sorrows.
Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Safety
June 12, 2018Carolyn Curtis (founder of SOS Events Ministry) is traveling by car from NY State back home to Florida. She went to a family reunion so many of her children and grandchildren are also traveling long distances. When the family is scattered, it is a great blessing to be able to trust the Lord for safety on the highway for all. Carolyn has 41 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren not counting spouses or her children, so it is a large family for the Lord to look after.
Psalms 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

Praying is work. Have you ever been praying and your mind will wander to a different subject? Or not been able to get to sleep and decided to pray and in just a little while you have fallen asleep?
Prayer is the one weapon the that Satan does not want you to use. Prayer will give you answers to problems or decisions that you are unsure about. God delights in hearing from His children.
The most wonderful thing is that He is interested in the smallest things in our lives and He loves to have us ask for them. Need a parking place or want to have someone call you that you haven’t heard from in awhile? Then there it is.. the parking place right in front of the building. The phone rings and the person who you wanted to talk to is calling. Coincidence some people say. No, answer to prayer from a loving Father who loves His children, and likes to give good things to them.
Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Cell Phones

Have you ever had your cell phone ring at an in opportune time? Maybe in church, at a doctors appointment, when you are just too busy to answer it, or you do answer it and it is a salesman. Cell phones are part of our lives today and they can be a blessing or an annoyance. Good news. We have a direct line to God through prayer. He is never too busy, His calls never get dropped and He is never annoyed with our calls. Have you talked to Him lately? He is waiting for your call.

Traveling
May 26, 2018There is a Christian song, ” This World is Not My Home, I’m just passing through.” We as Christians are traveling through life in this world. Sometime we have joys, hardships and challenges. Just like traveling for vacation, business or family occasions, trips can have ups and downs. Once our trip is over and we return home we are happy that our travels are over. The same holds true on our journey toward heaven. What a joy that will be when we finally reach our Heavenly home. So as we travel through life keep our destination in mind. Joy awaits us in Heaven.
John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Preparation for Celebration

Tonight, some of the volunteers who worked at Strawberry Festival but could not come to the luncheon, will come to the SOS Events property to have dinner (supper) as a thank you for their hard work. It takes preparation to get ready for a meal. Can you imagine the preparation in Heaven for us, when we who are saved will attend the marriage supper of the Lamb (Jesus). He said He was going to prepare a place for us and part of that preparation is a supper to celebrate. What things we as Christians have to look forward to.
Revelation 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Storms

in Florida there have been many storms in the last few days. These pictures (borrowed from my website) show a beautiful rainbow. It reminds us of the storms of life. We may have trials, sorrows and difficulties, however, they pass and we find peace and contentment because God has walked with us through our storms. And at the end when they are over there is joy.
Psalms 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
