In the United States of America “citizens” have rights given to us by the Constitution. When we see anyone and particularly politicians trying to take away those rights we must speak up and stand up for our freedoms.
Be thankful that we have those rights. In other countries people are jailed and even put to death for speaking negatively about the government, preaching the gospel or even going to church.
Today, just for a moment, stop and thank The Lord for freedom.
Some read this blog that do not live in the USA. We are praying for you our brothers and sisters in Christ who may not have the freedom we do. Whatever our circumstances we are free in Christ as the Bible says.

June 12, 2014What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning? Today, my first thought was actually the first line in the chorus of a hymn, “The love of God, how rich and pure, how measureless and strong.”
God’s love for me is so strong that no matter where I am in life, happy, sad, hurting, obedient, disobedient, discouraged, He still loves me.
He not only sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to take away ALL my sins, He meets all my needs. He loves me! He loves you!
So, today, first thing I praise Him for His love. Will you join me by praising Him right now?
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Just As I Am
June 11, 2014Are you ever frustrated that you can’t do more for Jesus? That you don’t have anything special to offer?
Charlotte Elliott, the author of the hymn, “Just As I Am,” certainly felt that way. She had been a brilliant and vivacious woman until an illness left her an invalid. Her situation left her quite depressed. She felt that she no longer had anything to offer — nothing to give.
But a pastor, Dr. Caesar Malan, came to visit her. Noting her despair, he encouraged her to give Christ her life — to come to Christ just as she was. That comment started a turnaround for her. While she remained an invalid, she began to search for ways to make her life meaningful.
And Dr. Malan’s words stayed with her — “Come to Christ just as you are.” Several years later, she wrote this hymn, which has become a favorite around the world. While she wrote more than a hundred hymns, this one in particular has affected more lives than she ever could have imagined.
So if you ever wonder what you can do to make your life meaningful, just put it in Christ’s hands and go where he leads. Christ has a way of using ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

Liberty

In America we are giving up our liberties everyday and as a nation we are becoming weaker. We as citizens must stand for our rights as granted by our forefathers in the Constitution. God should be honored in public events, graduations, sporting events, etc. America was a strong Godly nation until one woman decided that prayer should be taken out of the schools. It is not “politically correct” to mention God anymore. We need to wake up and stand up for our freedom and liberty and it begins by giving God the honor He deserves.

Each month Lakeland, FL barricades the streets from car traffic around Munn Park for a community event of food, music, community & civic organizations, churches, politicians, police, fire, utilities, transportation, etc. to gather for networking & general information sharing. This picture with Joyce Mlinek, was taken immediately after we set up the SOS Events booth @ 5:30PM. Seven souls were saved at this event on Friday evening.

Veteran Meets Christ
June 6, 2014Afghan war vet meets Jesus @ Auburndale, FL Flea Mkt: Ben, 31, from Smithburg, MD was visiting his mother. After soundly defeating him in arm wrestling, Randy Mlinek had the joy of sharing the Gospel with Ben. He was unchurched doubted if God could ever forgive him for what he had done. When he heard how some Bible heroes had committed serious sins and were still forgiven by God, he realized the Grace of God could in fact forgive him too. Ben said, “I believe God brought me to Florida just so I could talk to you today.” In repentance, Ben asked Jesus Christ to forgive and save his soul.

Missionary With SOS

Missionary, Alice Thomas, with new converts at the Farmers Market in Plant City, Florida.
God has blessed Alice as she has worked with SOS for over 2 years. She was a volunteer office worker first, the started helping at events and trainings, became a trainer/ event organizer and now has decided to be a full time missionary with SOS.
All the missionaries with SOS receive no salary but depend on support from God’s people. SOS is a faith based ministry.
