Do you feel at times that the work you do is unappreciated and unrewarded? Women may feel the stress of husband, children, home and job is overwhelming. Men go to work everyday maybe to a job they don’t even like and never get a thank you for providing for family. Pastors, missionaries may feel they are getting nowhere in their work for The Lord.
Remember, everything we do can and should bring glory to God. The verse chosen for today is to encourage you to keep on. Your labour is not in vain.

Simple Salvation
August 5, 2014“We should remember that people can go to Heaven without knowing much of the Word of God, but they cannot go to Heaven without knowing Jesus Christ as Savior.”
Lee Roberson
Witnessing to the lost should be simple. Many Christians think that a person must know and understand much of the Bible before they can be saved. That is like putting the cart before the horse.
All a person needs to know to go to Heaven is that they have sinned, Jesus died and paid the price for their sin and they need to ask forgiveness and accept Jesus as their Savior.
SOS Events keeps the Gospel simple so even a young child can understand.
Then after their salvation everyone receives Bible lessons that are age appropriate.
People need The Lord. If you would like to learn how to present the Gospel in a simple way, contact SOS at info@sosevents.org.
Luke 23:43
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
New Jersey News
August 4, 2014SOS team in New Jersey went to a local Farmers Market where eleven people made decisions for Christ. Most were adults.
Lavanya, the team leader ask for prayer for one of the vendors a 16 year old young man named Ron. He is skeptical about God and did not make a decision. Please pray the Holy Spirit will work on Ron’s heart and the next time the team goes to this event, Ron will tell them he got saved.
At every event seeds are planted. SOS team members sow the seeds and God gives the harvest.
1 Corinthians 3:7
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
At Calvary
August 3, 2014Years I spent in vanity and pride,
Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary.
Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.
By God’s Word at last my sin I learned;
Then I trembled at the law I’d spurned,
Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary.
Now I’ve given to Jesus everything,
Now I gladly own Him as my King,
Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary!
Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!
Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!
“At Calvary” is the testimony of its author William Newell. He was a rebellious teenager and his father was desperate. His father wrote to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago begging the president of the college to allow William to attend.
On one condition, that William meet with the president daily. With much prayer by both the father and president, William’s life turned around and he later became a pastor, evangelist and popular conference speaker. Never forgetting his wonderful transformation he wrote this beautiful hymn.
Luke 23:33
And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him….
Your Comfort Zone
August 2, 2014“It is no marvel that the devil does not love field preaching! Neither do I; I love a commodious room, a soft cushion, a handsome pulpit. But where is my zeal if I do not trample all these underfoot in order to save one more soul?” ~ John Wesley
A true soul winner will go out from their comfort zone to reach people with the Gospel. SOS workers go into the marketplaces and various events to witness to the lost. Sometimes it’s hot, sometimes cold, rarely perfect conditions, but they go. Then God blesses and opens the windows of Heaven and souls come to know The Lord.
The joy of seeing even one person make a decision for Christ is undiscribable.

Luke 15:7
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

SOS team from Alabama, Dorothy, Dale, Patty and Carl set up a booth at a Kickball Event. Three children, six teenagers and one adult made a decisions at this event last weekend.
One of the children wrote on the back of their decision cards, “I suddenly felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.”

Your Walk
July 31, 2014Opportunities
July 30, 2014
Two young boys saved at an event in New Jersey. In the northern states the opportunities for events are limited by weather. Very few outside events take place in the winter. The team there takes advantage of every event possible when the weather is good.
Autumn is fast approaching. SOS has many events that take place in that busy season.
There is still time for new teams to be trained before September. If you have a desire to win souls and would like to learn how to use the “3 Things God Can Not Do”, SOS will teach you and supply what you need.

Matthew 19:14
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me:for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
THE LITTLE RED HEN
July 29, 2014One day as the Little Red Hen was scratching in a field, she found a grain of wheat.
“This wheat should be planted,” she said. “Who will plant this grain of wheat ?”
“Not I,” said the Duck.
“Not I,” said the Cat.
“Not I,” said the Dog.
“Then I will,” said the Little Red Hen. And she did.
Soon the wheat grew to be tall and yellow.
“The wheat is ripe,” said the Little Red Hen. “Who will cut the wheat ?”
“Not I,” said the Duck.
“Not I,” said the Cat.
“Not I.” said the Dog.
“Then I will,” said the Little Red Hen. And she did.
When the wheat was cut, the Little Red Hen said, “Who will thresh this wheat ?”
“Not I,” said the Duck.
“Not I,” said the Cat.
“Not I,” said the Dog.
“Then I will,” said the Little Red Hen.’ And she did.
When the wheat was all threshed, the Little Red Hen said, “Who’ll take this wheat to the mill?”
“Not I,” said the Duck.
“Not I,” said the Cat.
“Not I,” said the Dog.
“Then I will,” said the Little Red Hen. And she did.
She took the wheat to the mill and had it ground into flour. Then she said,
“Who will make this flour into bread ?”
“Not I,” said the, Duck.
“Not I,” said the Cat.
“Not I,” said the Dog.
“Then I will,” said the Little Red Hen. And she did.
She made and baked the bread. Then she said, “Who will eat this bread ?”
“Oh! I will,” said the Duck.
“And I will,” said the Cat.
“And I will,” said the Dog.
“No, no!” said the Little Red Hen. “I will do that.” And she did.
This story was read to me as a child, to teach the value of work. Today I see it from a Christian perspective. There are people who are not saved and many Christians are not willing to go out and work in God’s fields. There are only a few “Little Red Hens” in our churches today. Be a “Little Red Hen” today and witness for The Lord.
John 4:35
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
