Hard Things

June 17, 2016

Sometimes as Christians we have to do things that are really hard. Standing for your convictions when everyone else is going along with the crowd. Telling the truth when it would be easier to not say anything to avoid hurting someone’s feelings. Witnessing to a close friend or relative when you know they will reject the gospel. Forgiving someone who has seriously hurt you.

These are just a few things that we may be called on to do. But we have the power and strength to do whatever is hard because God is with us in every situation and will bless our efforts when we follow Biblical principles. If we pray about those hard things and trust God to help us do the right thing, He does give the power and strength to do them.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Fruitful Labour

June 16, 2016

In Florida, God blesses SOS Events every week with decisions to follow Jesus. This week at the Plant City Flea Market 3 teenagers and 2 adults were saved.

Praise the Lord for the souls that are saved and for the faithful workers who sacrifice to be there every week.

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

A Special Find

June 14, 2016

“God Will Carry You Through” is the title of a book by Max Lucado. Not necessarily one of my favorite authors but I found this book on my bookshelf with a personal note from my husband, Tom Curtis, who went home to be with the Lord one month ago today. (This book sat on the shelf for 2 years and I never picked it up until today)

How special and wonderful is the Lord. The note said, “The Lord showed me this book. Read it before you write the blog. I love you. Tom

How perfect. The blessing is to know That God will carry me through and He will carry you through each problem and difficulty in life. The Bible has so many wonderful verses to help in every situation. All we have to do is trust Him and claim the promises in His Word.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Salvation Testimony

June 13, 2016

A brother and a sister were walking by us along with their Mom’s boyfriend and decided to stop and hear the three things God cannot do. They were vendors, a few spots down from us. The dad permitted them to talk to us. The kids were so sweet and right away accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  Later, they brought Mom to us and she spoke Portugese and very little English. She was also sweet and conversed with us and accepted Lord Jesus. She spoke her testimony in a video. Praise God for her testimony.
This is a testimony from Columbus Farmers Market in New Jersey. Praise the Lord for new salvations. The Bible tells us to go into all the world, but at events He sends people from other countries to the SOS Events booth.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

New Jersey Event

June 11, 2016

Great results reported from SOS Event volunteers in Piscataway, New Jersey. This team is from Faith Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ and they do a great job witnessing and leading people to Christ.

11 children and 1 adult made the decision to accept Lord Jesus as their Personal Savior. 4 adults and one child received the Assurance of Salvation promised in Scriptures. Below are some testimonies written on the back of the decision cards people who make decisions fill out.

Bettina, age 12, wrote: Jesus came into my heart and I believed that he died on the cross for my sin.

William, age 32 wrote: I was reassured of my salvation

Kimberly, age 29 wrote: Jesus died for my sins

David, Faithful Friend

June 10, 2016

David Dow is a friend and co laborer to SOS Events ministry. Today we wish him a Happy Birthday.

David builds all the displays for in the ministry which have been used to win thousands of people to the Lord not only in the USA but in several other countries as well. He also keeps everything looking beautiful on the property when he is in Florida. He is now up North with his family and friends and we pray he is enjoying the time there but we are always happy to have him back in Florida to fellowship and work with us here in the Fall. We are thankful to have a faithful friend.

Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron;  so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Alex

June 8, 2016

Today is Wednesday and Flea Market day, however, because of Colon (the tropical storm) the ground may be too wet to set up. The following testimony is from Ramona last week at the SOS Events booth:

Just have to share what happened at SOS last week while sharing Jesus at the Flea Market. There was a man next to us selling his stuff and it was really hot, so he decided to sit down under our canopy and talk to us awhile. While he was there he shared with me that he was a Muslim, speaks English, Spanish and a little Arabic. While we were sitting there Alice had the opportunity to lead two young women to the Lord. He was listening to what was being said. Later he told Randy and I that he would be happy to translate in Spanish anything that needed to be said of course we did not take him up on it, but I was praying that God would do a work in his heart while we were there. He was very kind and kept wanting to give us stuff for free. I told him he needed his stuff so he could make some money and he just said no mamasita I want you to have it so I didn’t want to be rude!! So I said thank you. Please remember Alex in your prayers. He is such a nice guy and I think he would be a wonderful soul winner if he did ask Jesus into his heart!!!

John 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
