What is the greatest thing that keeps us from obeying God?
Partial obedience is the answer. Read the story of Saul in 1 Kings 15.
1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Are you planning a family reunion in the near future? What a wonderful time it is when families get together after a long separation. Sharing memories, seeing how the children have grown, sharing stories of the loved ones that have passed away. The reunion is something we look forward to. But there is an even greater reunion in a Christian’s future. That is when we get to Heaven. The first person we will want to see is Jesus. Then to be with loved ones again will be joy unspeakable.
1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Sometime things don’t work out as we plan. First, yesterday, the SOS Events van would not start and 3 of us were waiting for several hours for a tow truck in a shopping center when we were supposed to be decorating the Strawberry Festival booth. The van is now in a repair shop and the booth still needs to be finished. Then there was a training at a church and we were promised a room to train in but when we arrived the room was not available as promised. The only place left was the cafeteria where people came to eat the Wednesday night meal. So we set up in a corner of that noisy filled room and trained 6 people in spite of the confusion. We now have several new soul winners to work the Festival. The enemy tries to discourage but the Lord brings the victory if we keep on doing what He wants us to do no matter what the circumstances.
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
SOS Events is blessed to have dedicated people all over the USA. Yesterday you were asked to pray for workers and the Lord answered prayer. Carl from Alabama is coming to help close the Strawberry Festival and Stephanie from Pennsylvania is coming to help with the opening. They are team leaders from their area. Tonight there is a training for five new ladies that want to work as a Sunday School activity. Thank you for praying and please continue to pray for SOS Events.

It is a great blessing to be used of the Lord to win souls and train others to be soul winners. Strawberry Festival begins next week and the staff at SOS Events has been busy preparing for this yearly event. Many trainings have taken place since January in various churches, homes and at the office. It is not too late to participate with us if you live in the area. If you do not you can still be a vital part of this event by praying. Pray for salvation of souls, pray for the workers that they will be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Our trip to China was exciting and wonderful, but the one thing that stuck in my mind was the visit to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. It was very beautiful but sad at the same time. Hundreds of people coming to worship and leave gifts to the image of Buddha. China is a Country with millions of people who do not even know who Jesus is. Pray for the salvation the people of China. Busy weekend ahead for SOS Events staff in Florida. Diana had a training yesterday for a couple in the home office. Alice will be at a church this morning where 4 people are signed up for a refresher course. Tomorrow both Alice and Carolyn will be at a church in Valrico, Fl for a training of about a dozen people who want to be effective soul winners. We are so thankful for the Christians who have a burden for souls. Hopefully all the trainings held in January and February will fill all the 132 slots needed for Strawberry Festival which starts March 2nd.
