Kids and Teens join SOS
July 16, 2010Curtis’s Return to FL
July 8, 2010What a successful trip to NC and back. Tom and Carolyn were away for 2 weeks this trip. There were 49 decisions for salvation.
What a privilege to work in VBS with smaller children. One young boy came up and wanted to join the club.
That is a tremendous idea! Kids Klub for SOS. You will be hearing more about this in future postings.
On the road witnessed many times. At one hotel a young teen was looking through the dumpster. He had lost a shoe in the trash. Tom went over and helped him hunt through the garbage. Carolyn and Tom prayed. Smelly victory. The shoe was found immediately. Then Tom was able to talk to the teen and give him information about SOS for his youth pastor. They were in the hotel for a youth conference. God is so good.
VBS Graham, NC
July 1, 2010Tom and Carolyn Curtis are in North Carolina working with Bethel Baptist Church at their VBS. In 4 days 41 children have been saved. Tonight, July 1st, there will be a churchyard event called Patriotic Explosion. They are expecting almost 1000 people to come to the event and praying for many to be saved. The weather has turned from close to 100 degree heat to the low 80’s and this will bring many out. Fireworks and free food is a great encouragement to come to Bethel tonight. Pray for souls.
Tom Curtis Recovering from Pneumonia
June 2, 2010Even as Tom recovers from a very serious bout with pneumonia, he is still a witness for the Lord. While waiting for an x-ray today, Tom and Carolyn were talking about a book they are trying to write. A woman sitting in the waiting room asked Tom if he was a minister. He said, yes.
She started to cry and said, “Would you pray for me. I am so afraid?”
After a few questions, she revealed that her husband had died just a year ago with a blood clot and that was what her test was for.
She got called into the office right then but Tom and Carolyn prayed for her. When she came out she said that the tests were OK and was thankful for the prayer.
She explained she had been saved as a child, so was given a tract and she left.
That gave Tom the opportunity to hand out about 10 tracts to all who were in the office at that time.
Everyone appreciated it and the conversation was about the “3 Thing God Can Not Do” as Tom and Carolyn left the office.
Tom is a diligent soul winner and even when not feeling well that does not stop him from being a witness for the Lord.
All the prayers, phone calls and cards are appreciated. Please continue to pray for Tom’s fast recovery.
Office Assistant Testimony
May 25, 2010Opportunities come our way, but unless we take them we might not ever know the outcome.
In my case, an opportunity was presented to me and I took it! Let me set the stage . . . a few days prior, Tom met a young man and planted the seed of salvation. The other evening, Carolyn planted more seed via the phone. With prayer for this young man’s soul, the Holy Spirit was already at work on his life. Today this young man stopped by the SOS Events ministries headquarters and I had the privilege of sharing with him the Three Things God Cannot Do. He accepted the Lord as his personal Savior! Now he is 100% sure he will spend eternity in heaven. What a blessing for the Lord to use someone such as me to make a difference in another person’s eternity.
That is what it’s all about. Just be willing to share. We can’t get to heaven through church attendance or by being a good person. Yes, these are great things to do or be but when it comes right down to it, all we have to do is admit that we are a sinner, believe that God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay for our sin on the cross when He died for us and confess to the Lord by repenting and inviting him to be part of our life. It is that easy. Remember, once you have accepted the Lord you have become His child and no one can take that from you.
So blessed to be part of the SOS Events ministry,
Diana
God Gives the Desires of Your Heart
May 18, 2010Several years ago Carolyn had a small pet Chihuahua but after many illnesses we had to have him put to sleep. Carolyn has been without a dog since that time.
We tried pet goats, rabbits and kittens but nothing compares to a lovable dog (to Carolyn). One morning last week Tom went to the workshop to prepare for the day when he heard a wimper. Well, there was a dirty little chihuahua, full of fleas but Tom took it into Carolyn and said, “Here is the dog that the Lord sent you.”
After several baths and dedicated care the dog bonded with both Carolyn and Tom. They checked newspapers, Craigs List and put out signs to find the rightful owner but no one has come forward to claim the dog.
She is sweet and answers to the name “Baby”.
Psa 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Tom and Carolyn back in Florida
May 11, 2010Tom and Carolyn Curtis are back “home” again after 6 weeks of travel for the Lord.
Our latest person who came to know the Lord is Paulo. Tom always says that your tests become testimonies and this was a perfect example.
Just insidethe FL. state line is a campground that is convenient to stop at on the way home. After a restful night sleep, Tom decided to check the oil in the motor home. It was down a quart so he took the yellow bottle and proceeded to put it in. Then he looked at the label and discovered it was not engine oil but transmission fluid with stop leak.
He called the company who produced the fluid and they said drain it. We had no way to get into town, a distance of about 5 miles.
Tom called the local auto parts store and the young man closed the store and delivered the oil and new filter to the campgrounds.
This young man was Paulo and of course Tom asked him if he knew the “3 Things God Can Not Do” Paulo said, “No.”
Tom then invited Paulo to call on the name of the Lord and Paulo was wonderfully converted. He said he was going to church on Sunday and tell the Pastor that he had accepted Christ.
The test did become a testimony. Thank you Lord for the opportunities to lead people to Yourself.

Tom Curtis Testimony
April 11, 2010In Joshua 1:8 the Bible talks about success. My desire in life was to be very successful.
I thought I had reached my goal, I had a good family, a great business, and all the material things I had ever dreamed of.
I had planned to take 20 of my business associates to Put in Bay for the day on my motor yacht. When we got as far as the harbor light I got a radio call from the Coast Guard. They gave me instructions to go to a land line phone and call my home.
When I called home and was told something terrible happened.
My son Nick, 12 years old had been playing at home when gas spilled on him, and someone threw a match at him. He was burned over 80% of his body and the doctors told me his chance of survival was zero.
Champion Spark plug company offered to fly him to the Boston Shrine Hospital. After 3 months, I was told when I came in to go right up as he would not be with us much longer.
I held his hand and he asked me this question, “Dad, do you know Jesus Christ personally?” My answer was, “Nick, no one could possibly know Jesus personally, because he is dead.”
Nick said, “Dad, I know him.” and died.
I was broken and 9 years went by, until a new Christian came into my office and invited me to church on Wednesday night.
The Pastor preached a sermon that I thought was all about me. When he gave the invitation, I begged God to save me.
My life was changed immediately and promised God I would serve Him the rest of my life and tell everyone I could about a relationship with Jesus.
After I was saved I took every opportunity to learn more about God and lead others into a right relationship with Jesus.
I moved around the country and ended up in Atlanta, where I suffered 5 heart attacks and was told I had 3 years to live. I was in the hospital for 3 months, lost my business, my wife and all material possessions. I spent the next 3 years studying God’s word to prepare for ministry.
God raised me up and empowered me. I met Carolyn, we were married in 2001 and God led us to start SOS Events ministry. Our goal is to teach and train Christians to be soul winners and to see as many souls saved in America as possible through our ministry.
God has provided the abundant life for us as promised in His Word. We have seen hundreds of people who have become soul winners and thousands of people saved.
Yesterday in a shopping center a young man approached me to buy some candles. I asked him this question, “Do you know the 3 things God can not do?” He said, “No.”
I pulled out a Bible tract and showed him.
God Can Not Lie. Titus 1:2
God Can Not Change. Malachi 3:6
God Can Not Let Anyone Into Heaven Unless They Are Born Again. John 3:3-3:5.
I asked, “ Are you 50, 75 or 100% sure if you died today you would go to Heaven.”
He said, “I am not sure at all.” Then he trusted in Christ as his Savior.
With this simple plan of salvation, God will use you to lead anyone, anywhere, anytime to the Lord Jesus Christ.
