Forever Freedom

May 24, 2014

Memorial Day weekend. Time to honor the men and women in the military that fought bravely so that we can have freedom. Many died, some were injured and their lives changed forever.
Take time to pray for the families, and thank The Lord for the freedom we enjoy because of the sacrifice given by our brave military men and women.
Then remember the One who also sacrificed His life for our spiritual freedom, The Lord Jesus Christ.
The freedom we enjoy in the USA could be taken away, but the freedom we have in Jesus can never be taken from us if we have trusted Him as our personal Savior.

John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

True Liberty

We on this continent should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs but to secure liberty for their souls. ~Robert J. McCracken

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.

“3 things God Can Not Do” makes people curious and they come over to see what God can not do. Then the SOS missionary (in this picture Randy Mlinek)
gives them the plan of salvation and many come to The Lord each week.
Each person will be followed up with a Bible study and a local church will have opportunity to call on them. Praise The Lord for allowing us to be a part of bringing souls to Him.
There are people in your area who are lost. Find out how you can be part of witnessing to them at events through SOS Events. Info@sosevents.org.
Jesus said:

Matthew 4:19
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

God Uses The Weak To Win Souls

May 17, 2014

“God stands in no need of our strength or wisdom, but of our ignorance, of our weakness; let us but give these to Him, and He can make use of us in winning souls.” —Dwight L. Moody
Today is Saturday SOS missionaries and volunteers go to events to seek the lost. Every person that makes a decision for Christ is drawn to the booth by the Holy Spirit. It is He that wins them. We are vessels for His use. Pray for SOS workers today and remember you too can be used of God to win others to Christ. Need help? Contact SOS. Info@sosevents.org

1 Corinthians 1:27
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Look for Opportunity to Witness

May 14, 2014

Tom and I went out to eat to celebrate Mother’s Day.
We went a day late because the restaurants are too crowded on Mother’s Day.
As we approached the restaurant a woman was sitting on a bench outside. Just then fire trucks went by with an emergency vehicle also. As the sirens screamed, the woman said to me, “I really hate that sound, it makes me so nervous.”
Tom returned to the car to get some Bible tracts, and I handed the woman a tract that I had in my pocket and told her, “Read this and it will take away your fear if you do what it says.”
When Tom came back towards the restaurant he also handed the woman a Bible tract.
She was reading the one I had given her, and thanked Tom, because she wanted one for her husband also.
Inside the restaurant after we had finished eating, we got into a conversation with three ladies sitting at the next table.
We had the opportunity to talk with them about the Bible and found out that they had a grandfather that was a godly Christian man.
They said he was religious. We gave each of those three ladies a Bible tract.
Also gave one along with a good tip to the waiter.
Witnessing is something everyone can do. God wants us to have our eyes open looking for opportunities to speak to someone about him or just hand them a Bible tract.
Today look for an opportunity to Serve Our Savior by handing out a Bible track or telling someone about Him.

Acts 5:32
And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

What Kind of Influence Are You?

May 10, 2014

Mothers and Grandmothers have a great influence on their children. A Biblical example is Eunice and Lois to Timothy.
Grandmother Lois. She was the first convert. Then the daughter was saved, and finally Timothy. This did not come through heredity, but through prayer and Christian training.
The Apostle Paul wrote 2 books of the Bible to Timothy, then a young man but the influence of 2 women on Timothy’s life blesses us yet today.
Our influence as Mothers and Grandmothers has a lasting effect on future generations. We need to be Godly examples to our children and grandchildren.

2 Timothy 1:5
When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

Jesus Cared for His Mother

May 9, 2014

Mother’s Day is just 2 days away. Time to honor our Mother. The Bible has a lot to say about Mothers but how Jesus cared for His Mother is evident by one scripture and it was one of the last things He said while He hung on the cross.
John 19:27
Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
