Well Done

May 17, 2016

As family and friends gather to celebrate the home going of Thomas Curtis and reminisce how he influenced their lives, I am reminded how important it is to be a witness for the Lord.

The testimonies of the lives that Tom touched reminds us that the only thing we can take to Heaven are the people we lead to the Lord. As Tom met Jesus face to face I am sure Jesus told him, “Well done thy good and faithful servant.”

The last day he was in the hospital, Tom led 3 people to the Lord and witnessed to several more. There were many hospital doctors, nurses and caregivers who stopped by his room to tell him how much he meant to them and how he had changed lives of people on the third floor of Brandon Hospital.

His family and friends will miss him but his dedication to the Lord lives on through his family, friends and spiritual children.

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

SOS Events Expanding

May 4, 2016

In an email from Patty, one of SOS Events faithful missionaries, came the following opportunities:

Found out yesterday that we will get to train our Hispanic ministry on Sos this Sunday and that my family has the opportunity to take SOS to the South American town of Leticia along the banks of the Amazon to the natives in villages there the end of July. Praying about all of this and will keep you posted!

Praise the Lord for the expansion of SOS Events in the USA and around the world.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Catherine

April 8, 2016

Catherine is one of our wonderful, faithful Senior Servants. She is now moving on to a new phase of her life. She is moving to North Carolina to be close to here daughter and we at SOS Events want to wish her well. Knowing her she will find a place in her new home that she can continue to work for the Lord.

I like to call her one of the 3 Musketeers because she always comes with two of her friends, Caroline and Sarah to work. These 3 ladies are amazing. In the summer when Senior Servants do not meet because of the heat and many go away for the summer, these ladies insist on coming and working anyway. She has been a blessing to SOS Events.

Catherine, we love you and you will be missed.

Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Salvations

March 30, 2016

On Monday, Dena and Glen, faithful SOS Events workers, went to the Webster Flea Market in Florida and Five people were saved. What a blessing. Please pray for these new converts.

Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Serving Our Savior

March 24, 2016

The Flea Market in Plant City, Fl on Wednesdays continues to have souls come to the Lord. Last week  16 people trusted Jesus as their Savior and yesterday 2 more came to Christ. What a wonderful opportunity to serve the Lord weekly.

Psalms 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Amazing Staff

March 23, 2016

The office staff of SOS events is amazing. They all go above and beyond what is expected or asked of them.

Diana, office manager, teacher, trainer and friend does so many things that an ordinary employee would not do. She keeps everything running smoothly. Does all the banking and along with Carolyn takes care of donations and finances.

Alice, who does most of the scheduling of events, makes phone calls to coordinate workers, trains, and regularly wins souls at a weekly flea market.

Beka, has worked in the office part time since seventh grade, now is about to graduate from high school. She loves the ministry and is a soul winner. She is willing to do whatever necessary to help. She also does computer work and knows how the ministry functions.

Hailey is also a senior in high school who started working this year with SOS Events. She does all the things that are so important to keep supplies for events. She does filing, makes decision cards, packages tracts, sends reminders and cards to workers and various little things that are to numerous to mention.

Julianna, also a senior in high school and our newest office worker. She does computer work and her responsibilities include recording decisions and making sure the new converts get Bible studies.

There are also several volunteers who will come when extra work is needed in the office.

This staff is dedicated to the Lord, SOS Events ministry and also are a great help to the founders, Tom and Carolyn. We are so thankful to have this staff working daily in the office.

Tom and Carolyn just want to publicly thank them and want them to know how much they are appreciated.

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Have You Lost Your Wonder?

March 9, 2016

The first of three reasons why we don’t in souls according to a Lifeway article:

We’ve lost our wonder. In Matthew’s account of The Great Commission  it seems that Jesus is not imploring his disciples to share the gospel. He’s expecting it. And why not? They’d just witnessed a man brutally crucified, buried for three days, now risen. If you had met Jesus, if you’ve seen him first dead, then alive, nobody would have to convince you to go tell someone about this miracle.

Why don’t we evangelize? Not because we don’t have the right tools or the right spiel. We don’t talk about Jesus because those of us who know Jesus have lost the wonder. If you’ve been with Jesus, who was raised from the dead and has given you new life, if he’s indeed the reigning King of the Universe, if you know and love him, of course you are going to tell people about him. A Christian’s first obligation is to lift up high the risen Christ, invite your people into the wonder of his love. If you do this and get a glimpse of Christ, you won’t be able to stop telling your friends and neighbors and coworkers. We are all evangelists for the things that capture our hearts. Think back to your last several conversations. Think about what animated you, what got you talking, what gave you excitement? Did anyone have to prompt you, beg you, guilt you? No, it came naturally.

If Jesus is the center, talking about Jesus will be natural.

Matthew 20:17-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Will There Be Any Stars in Your Crown?

February 20, 2016

1 Peter 5:4  And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

I am thinking today of that beautiful land

I shall reach when the sun goeth down;

When through wonderful grace by my Savior I stand,

Will there be any stars in my crown?

Refrain:

Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown

When at evening the sun goeth down?

When I wake with the blest in the mansions of rest

Will there be any stars in my crown?

In the strength of the Lord let me labor and pray,

Let me watch as a winner of souls,

That bright stars may be mine in the glorious day,

When His praise like the sea billow rolls.

(refrain)

O what joy it will be when His face I behold,

Living gems at his feet to lay down!

It would sweeten my bliss in the city of gold,

Should there be any stars in my crown.

(refrain)

High King of heaven, my victory won,

May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,

Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

Will we have a soul winners crown with the stars of the ones we have led to the Lord?

Presidential Race

January 30, 2016

January is almost over in a presidential election year. TV, radio, newspapers and magazines seem to have one theme, the election. As an American I want to be informed but get weary of hearing the same thing over and over again.

Each candidate say they have the answer for our country, but the Bible has only one solution to the problems in any nation.

Christians can make a difference in the nation that you reside. The Bible says we must humble ourselves, seek God’s face and He will heal our land. It is our responsibility to be informed, vote, but the most important thing that we can do is put God first in our lives, Love and honor Him and trust Him for the results.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Christian Marathon

January 16, 2016

Christian life is like running a marathon. First a person must decide to run in the race.

The day we accept Jesus Christ as payment for our sin is the decision to begin the Christian race.

The marathon runner must train. Our training as a Christian begins by Bible reading, prayer, church, learning to witness and obeying God.

Proper food is very important to the marathon runner. The right amount of vitamins and carbs are important to be able to have strength to finish  the race. The Christian must have proper food also. We get our strength from the Word of God the Bible and direction from the Holy Spirit.

Running in a marathon is not easy, there are health risks involved but the runner gladly accepts the risks to finish the course. The  Christian race is not easy either but we must decide to finish our course.

How are you doing in your Christian race? The marathon runner does not give up or quit and as a Christian we must not quit serving the Lord no matter how long or hard life may become. Our prize is worth much more than the marathon winners. Our prize is our Savior telling us, Well done thy good and faithful servant. Matthew 22:21

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
