Betrayal and Denial

April 13, 2017

Judas betrayed Jesus, Peter denied Him and the rest of the disciples an away. Jesus understands the hurt we may be facing because He went through suffering and rejection. Do we also turn away from Him?

Luke 22:61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

Pilate

April 12, 2017

Pilate tried to prove his innocence by washing his hands, but his sin could not be taken away by washing. The only thing that can wash away sin is the blood of Jesus and trusting in His death, burial and resurrection. Pilate was guilty of helping to send Jesus to the cross, but God used him to fulfill prophecy.

Matthew 27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

The Crowd

April 11, 2017

Are you following the crowd? On Palm Sunday the crowd yelled “Hosanna” and one week later they cried “Crucify Him”. Following the crowd can lead you into wrong decisions.

Luke 23:21 But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.

Do You Have 2 Birthdays?

April 7, 2017

There are many birthdays that we celebrate this time of year. SOS Events Ministry sends out many cards to our staff and people involved in the ministry. Birthdays are a time we get together with friends and family. However, the day of our physical birth is not as important as our spiritual birthday. Do you have two birthdays? Jesus said we must be born again.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Our Sin, God’s Love

March 15, 2017

Our sins put Jesus on the Cross, but Love kept Him there!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joy Unspeakable

February 25, 2017

Are you planning a family reunion in the near future? What a wonderful time it is when families get together after a long separation. Sharing memories, seeing how the children have grown, sharing stories of the loved ones that have passed away. The reunion is something we look forward to. But there is an even greater reunion in a Christian’s future. That is when we get to Heaven. The first person we will want to see is Jesus. Then to be with loved ones again will be joy unspeakable.

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Temple of Heaven

February 20, 2017

Our trip to China was exciting and wonderful, but the one thing that stuck in my mind was the visit to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. It was very beautiful but sad at the same time. Hundreds of people coming to worship and leave gifts to the image of Buddha. China is a Country with millions of people who do not even know who Jesus is. Pray for the salvation the people of China. Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Home Sweet Home

February 15, 2017

Coming home after a long trip is one of the biggest blessings. Going to another Country is wonderful. The sights, sounds, smells and people are different. As enjoyable as it is, it is not “home”. When the journey is almost over and home is getting close, your heart beats a little faster, your eyes take in the familiar surroundings and what a relief. You are finally home.

That is how we as Christians should look toward Heaven. This world is not our home, we are just passing through. Jesus has gone ahead to prepare a wonderful place for us. Our final “home”. Wherever you are in life today, joy or heartache, remember we are passing through and our final home is being prepared. What joy to look forward to our Home in Heaven.

John 14:2-3 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
