Why?

January 31, 2016

Do you ever get discouraged? Do you wonder why something is happened in your life that you don’t understand?
That is exactly what happened yesterday to Tom Curtis. When he awoke he found the vaccum pump that is on his leg to help a wound heal was not working. Just the day before the home health nurse had come to change the dressing and everything was fine when she left. Now an alarm went off and nothing worked. After doing everything in the instruction book to solve the problem there was nothing left to do but call for another nurse to come and fix it. Discouraged and wondering why, there was nothing that Tom could do but pray and trust the Lord.
About two hours later, in walked a new Home healthcare nurse, whose name is John. John changed the tubing on the pump and everything worked fine. Tom, never letting an opportunity to witness go by, asked John if he knew for sure he was going to go to heaven.

John said he did not know, but that just two days ago another patient had asked the same question. Tom told John that God was working on his heart and it’s time for him to trust in Jesus. John agreed and in just a few minutes accepted Jesus as his Savior. As you can see from the picture both Tom and John are happy about that decision.

Discouragement turned to joy and complete understanding why God allowed a trial to come into Tom’s life.

Got Problems?

January 13, 2016

No problem is too great to place in God’s hands.

What a true saying on a church sign. God will be with us in any problem great or small.

The ministry has brought love joy & peace to many including Carolyn & myself. Pray that SOS Events ministry will grow in 2016 so we can reach thousands more of hurting people who do not know Jesus Christ.
We need motivated people who have GREAT faith. Let us pray Christ will remove evil from, GOVERNMENT,SCHOOLS, BUSINESS & HOMES. Motivation is how it starts you must be a Christian & the Spirit must live in you. Would you work with us Personally or support the ministry financially? Happy New Year!

January 1, 2016

Happy New Year from the staff at SOS Events. May God grant you a blessed year. If you walk with Jesus  every day you will be blessed no matter what your circumstances.

I Thessalonians 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

Friends

November 25, 2015

Thank the Lord for your friends. Some people think they have few friends, some have many friends.

A friend is someone who loves you in any circumstance. They laugh with you when you are happy and cry with you when you are sad, they accept you with all your faults and if you disagree they will come to an agreement even if it is to disagree agreeably. Sometimes a friend will disappoint you but they are still there for you when you need them.

 There is one true friend that is always with you and that is Jesus. For the Christian He is the closest friend you will ever have and he never disappoints you. He listens to every prayer and has the power to answer. He comforts when you are hurting or sick. He is with you in your joys and in your sorrow. 24/7 He is there.

We are thankful for our friends here on earth but most thankful for Jesus who is ever present in our lives.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times,

Hebrews 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Endorsement

November 10, 2015

Testimony received from Alabama recently. What a great endorsement for SOS events and Praise the Lord for the souls saved.

 My name is Carey Waldrop. I am a former pastor. I am currently the chapter director for our Faith Riders ministry @ Mineral Springs Baptist Church. I was recently introduced to SOS. I was trained & also received training to be a trainer. I have already trained several of our faith rider members. I said all that to say this; we had an opportunity to use the sos method last Wednesday. We were invited to another church Enon Baptist to have a trunk or treat on our bikes, which we did. We also decided to bring along our sos board and share the gospel. Not only did our newly trained guys step up to the plate & put what they had learned into practice, but were excited to see immediate results with 12 souls coming to Christ. Thanks for a very simple way to not only share the gospel ( over the years I have used several) simple & easy to train others. In his service.

The First Day of the Week

November 8, 2015

Sunday, the first day of the week, Jesus came to the disciples and said, “Peace be unto you.” May today, the first day of this week and all week long, bring you the peace that only Jesus can give.

John 20:19  Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Home

October 29, 2015

HOME. What a wonderful word. Tom Curtis spent 12 days in the hospital after major surgery and his focus was on getting strong enough to come home. He worked diligently to be able to be released to come home. Then the joyful moment when he stepped in the door. He was able to eat what he wanted, sleep without being interrupted and just relax. What a blessing from the Lord. (He won 2 people to the Lord in the hospital as well as prayed with several nurses and caregivers)

Our focus as Christians should be that we are working diligently to get ready to go to our eternal home, Heaven. Our works do not save us but we want to be able to have the Savior meet us and say well done. That will be a joyful moment when we step into Heaven and all the trials of this earth will be gone and only blessing will be there.

Matthew 25:21    His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

God Has A Plan

October 14, 2015

“God has a master plan for your life, and that master plan does not change either. It is a plan designed specifically for you. It is a plan that God intends for you to live out fully, beginning at the moment of your birth and never ending until the moment of your death.” Dr. Charles Stanley

Psalm 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

When We See Christ

October 9, 2015

  Today, if you need encouragement a good hymn to listen to is “When We See Christ.” There are several versions on Utube. Jesus is coming again. It could be today.

Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,
We’re tempted to complain, to murmur and despair;

But Christ will soon appear to catch His Bride away,

All tears forever over in God’s eternal day.
Sometimes the sky looks dark with not a ray of light,
We’re tossed and driven on , no human help in sight;

But there is one in heav’n who knows our deepest care,

Let Jesus solve your problem – just go to Him in pray’r.
Life’s day will soon be o’er, all storms forever past,

We’ll cross the great divide, to glory, safe at last;

We’ll share the joys of heav’n – a harp, a home, a crown,

The tempter will be banished, we’ll lay our burden down.

Chorus:

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,

Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ;

One gliimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,

So bravely run the race till we see Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
