Can we rejoice in times of trouble and hard circumstances? Yes.
When my youngest son died unexpectedly, I felt my world crash around me. Did I think I could rejoice? No. However, I was teaching school, 5th grade, and one of my students encouraged me everyday.
We would sing this verse of scripture and find one thing to rejoice about that day. It maybe was as small as a butterfly landing on a beautiful flower or some other seemingly insignificant thing. As the days went by I felt the heavy burden lift and GOD brought true joy back into my life. (Testimony by Carolyn Curtis, cofounder SOS Events Ministry)
If you are going through difficult times, remember, this IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE, find something you can be rejoice about.
Hebrews 9:28 – So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Many people, even Christians, are fearful. Illness, natural disasters, family problems and finances are all things that cause us to fear.
But God is real. He tells us to fear not. It is a matter of faith and trust. Faith comes by hearing and hearing is the Word of God.
We need to read the Bible everyday and meditate on what God tells us. Pray and tell Jesus our fears and concerns. Find fellowship with other believers. Listen to Pastors and teachers who present the truth.
Fear and confusion are not from God. Confess our fear to Him and He will bring peace.
Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
When SOS Events volunteers go to an event to witness and win souls, the most important thing that they must do is rely on the Holy Spirit to bring people to the booth and then bring conviction into their hearts so the hear and accept the gospel. All the work, prayer and preparation will come to nothing without the Holy Spirit’s Power.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
When we go on a trip we prepare by checking the route, making a list so we don’t forget anything, making sure our home is secure.
We need to make preparations to go to Heaven. The only route we can take to get there is Jesus. We find the list in the Bible. It tells us what we need to do to be sure we are on the right path. Finally we make sure we are secure, by accepting Jesus as our Savior.
Are you ready for the greatest trip we can take. Are you Heaven bound?
