If you have a need or even a want the first place you should go to get it is prayer. The Bible promises if we seek the Lord first in our lives all things will be added on to us.
Sometimes, God does not give us what we want because he knows best. He knows what we need.
God never fails to take care of His children and he will meet all our needs.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5&6.
One week until Christmas Day! Are we so busy that we forget the most important thing we need to do this season and everyday?
That is to Praise the Lord in everything. If we are not doing that, we have missed what Christmas is all about.
God sent His Son, the LORD JESUS to be born. Not as King but as a lowly baby, to grow up and die on the cross for payment for our sin. That alone is worthy of all our praise.
Then our daily blessings. Too many to even count. So stop today and right now give Him the praise He deserves. Take time from your business to honor the One who give you everything.
It wasn’t until about the nineteenth century that we find Christianity absorbing the bright, cheery symbolism of the Christmas tree. The Christians had long held the fir as a symbol of the Tree of Life.
Early Christians knew their symbolism well, as they added candles and apples to their Christmas firs. These candles represented the light of Christ. The apples symbolized knowledge which spawned man’s original sin according to Christian belief.
Here we see the light of Christ forgiving the “fall of man” within the symbol of the Christmas tree.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
One of the beautiful symbols of Christmas is the pointsettia plant that we like to decorate with for the holiday. In Florida and other warm climates the plants grow and bloom in December.
The shape reminds us of the star that led the wise men to Bethlehem to worship Jesus.
The red color the precious blood of Jesus, shed for us, the only we can have our sins forgiven. White plants, a symbol of Jesus’ purity.
The poinsettia, a wonderful reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Holidays are something to be thankful for because it gives us time to be with family and friends.
It is time to stop and count our many blessings thar God has given us.
As we go now into the time of year when many holidays are celebrated, we as Christians must let our lights shine bright.
Christmas lights are everywhere. Shopping and the hustle of parties and other activities take our time and attention, we must remember it is the perfect time to witness for Jesus.
So be thankful for the holidays coming and use this time wisely.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.Matthew 5:16
How are you doing in your daily thanks to the Lord as we look forward to Thanksgiving Day.
On Thanksgiving we look forward to a great meal, turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing and the best part dessert. A true feast in most homes in America.
There are many people who are not as blessed as we are. Not only on Thanksgiving but everyday of the year. Hunger. They do not know where their next meal is coming from, maybe a soup kitchen or a charitable organization.
How about you? Are you truly grateful for your daily bread? Today, take time to thank The Lord for His blessing. Do not wait until Thanksgiving Day to give thanks.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
What a beautiful day on Saturday. Weather was perfect. Venue at the Red Barn Ranch in Plant City, Florida was great.
SOS Events Ministry was there with willing volunteers and a new worker who speaks fluent Spanish. That is an answer to prayer.
The best blessing of it all was that 10 people invited Jesus to be their Savior. Every opportunity to present the Gospel is what we are thankful for.
Waking up in the morning to a beautiful sunny day.
As darkness falls the lights in our homes allows us to enjoy the evening.
The lights of a city skyline at night. How we complain when electricity goes out, even for a few minutes or longer. Light is important.
The Bible tells us a lot about light. Jesus is the light of the world. Without Him we would be in total darkness spiritually.
His Word also tells us that as Christians we are light. He uses a candle as the illustration. Do not hide your light under a bushel. It is our responsibility to tell others of the wonderful light we have. Jesus.
Today, thank the Lord for His light and then share that light with someone.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:15-16
