Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
Read your Bible. Pray every day (repeat 3 times). Read your Bible. Pray every day. And you’ll grow, grow, grow (repeat 3 times). Read your Bible. Pray every day. And you’ll grow, grow, grow.
Don’t read your Bible. Forget to pray (repeat 3 times). Don’t read your Bible. Forget to pray. And you’ll shrink, shrink, shrink (repeat 3 times). Don’t read your Bible. Forget to pray. And you’ll shrink, shrink, shrink.
I love this little kids song. I remember teaching it to my children and in Sunday School.
It may be a song for children, but the lesson is also great for adults. We grow in faith and our Christian walk when we read the Bible everyday. Remember, this is one of the ways GOD speaks to us. We grow closer to Him when we read and understand His Words.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16
Dwight L. Moody said, “The Bible was not given for our information, but for our transformation.”
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
Read the Bible daily. It will change your life. Meditate on God’s Word.
People from many nations are checking out this blog, especially when a verse from God’s Word is posted. I am so thankful that many people from all over the world has the opportunity to read what God has to say to them.
God’s Word is powerful and sharper than a two edged sword. Pray that people will read it and be saved.
Every Christian needs to get alone with God everyday. Fifteen minutes a day can take you through the Bible in a year. It is not to late to start if you begin today. This is leap year, February has 29 days that will catch you up if you did not start on January first. (There are several yearly Bible reading plans on the web)
Some people read a Proverb a day, which is a wonderful place to seek wisdom. The Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the books to read to know Jesus better and learn more of His sacrifice for you. Interested in prophecy? Daniel and Revelation are the books for you. Whatever you need the answer is in the Book, the Bible.
Let God speak to you through His Word and then you will be able to speak to Him through prayer.
Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
