Fifteen Souls

September 10, 2015

Alice with Lionel, one of the fifteen souls that made a decision to follow Jesus at the Plant City Flea Market this week. Many churches have prayer meeting on Wednesday but the pews are empty and no people come to the Lord. On Wednesday mornings SOS Events staff and volunteers are faithful at this Flea Market and salvations are recorded weekly.

Unsaved people usually will not go to church, but they do go to events to purchase items or have fun. Opportunity for witnessing is unlimited. If you want to become a soul winner in your area SOS Events will help you. Desire, training and most importantly the power of the Holy Spirit is all you need. Contact SOS for more information. Serving Our Savior with SOS Events

September 9, 2015

SOS Events is blessed to have faithful workers who help with the ministry. This week two of our volunteers who have been away for awhile are back to continue their important tasks at SOS.

David is a valuable asset to the ministry. He makes all the displays we use to win souls to Christ. He cuts them, sands them, paints them and puts them together. He also does general maintenance around the property and is willing to do whatever is necessary to keep buildings and equipment in working order.

Beverly is a volunteer who works in the office. There is always computer data entry to do in the growing ministry, as well as mailing, correspondence, and material for training and soul winning. She has been missed and we are thankful to have her return after a long absence.

Both these wonderful workers were caregivers for their mates who are now with the Lord. Pray for them as they are welcomed back to Serving Our Savior with SOS.

Blessed Assurance

September 8, 2015

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God,

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Refrain:

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long;

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;

Angels, descending, bring from above

Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,

I in my Savior am happy and blest,

Watching and waiting, looking above,

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Fanny Crosby 1873

Fanny Crosby was blind physically but not spiritually. She had faith and full assurance in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ to save her and wrote many hymns in her lifetime that are still sung and are a blessing to many over 100 years later.

Our prayer is that you who are reading this have the same assurance of the forgiveness that can be yours through faith in Jesus. It is as simple as admitting you have sinned, believing that He paid for your sins, asking Him to forgive you and change your life. He will come into your life and your life will change as you grow in the knowledge and understanding of His Word.

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Farmers Market Report From New Jersey

September 7, 2015

About 30 shoppers stopped by the SOS Display table to see the three things God Cannot Do at the Columbus Farmers Market in NJ.

Six SOS Events workers went to work in the booth.

4 children and 6 adults made the decision to accept Lord Jesus as their personal Savior.

Every convert is asked to fill out a Decision Card with Name, Address, Age, Phone Number, Email Address and then write on the back of the card what Jesus did for them when they prayed. Two of the testimonies written on the back of the Decision Cards follows:

Damen, age 24, wrote: He gave me the blessings of life and appreciation.

Leslie, age 28 wrote: I’m more sure that I am going to be accepted into heaven after talking to Sara today. I hope that one day I am able to live a more pure life, and surrounded by the light and love of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Psalms 40:5

Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done,

and thy thoughts which are to us-ward:

they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee:

if I would declare and speak of them,

they are more than can be numbered.

What is God Doing?

September 5, 2015

Do you ever wonder what God is doing in your life? Tom and Carolyn decided to go on a 2 day short trip to visit friends about 90 miles away from their home.They left about 12:30 PM and expected to be at their destination at about 3 PM. Driving on one of Florida’s toll roads a driver in front of them was driving about 55 in a 70 mile per hour speed zone. Making sure it was safe to pass Tom pulled out and a large metal pipe was right in front of him. Couldn’t turn to the left or the right as there were cars on both sides. So he tried to avoid it by straddling it in the center, but it flew up and hit the oil line or oil pan and soon the engine was smoking. Thankfully, the next toll booth was less than 2 miles away. Tom pulled into the employees parking lot after paying the toll and came to a stop. All the oil was drained out.

One of the employees called for help but 8 hours later Tom and Carolyn still were waiting for that Road Warrior to come.

Tom does have health issues and this was the first time in 18 months that he was well enough to attempt even a short trip. Finally, their son in law, Rick, came to the rescue another 2 hours later with a tow dolly to get the car and Tom and Carolyn home. Hopefully ths car can be repaired.

11:15 PM Safe at home. Counting their blessings. Many worst things could have have happened. They could have hit another car, the pipe could have ruptured the gas tank and caused explosion, or Tom could have had a heart attack from the trama of the stress, but God in His loving care protected them from serious consequences.

What was the purpose of this adventure?

Only God knows and that is where trusting the Lord in all circumstances comes into your life. All things do work together for good, but we may not see it for many days, weeks, months or years to come.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Senior Servants

September 4, 2015

The SOS Senior Servants met yesterday for the first time since June. It was a great joy to renew our fellowship with these dear ladies. In just two and one half hours they got over 2500 newsletters ready for mailing, then enjoyed food and fellowship.

These faithful Servants need prayer as many have illnesses, two have children with cancer and one has become a widow in the last month. Please join in prayer for them.

 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

God Meant It For Good

September 2, 2015

Exodus 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

The story of Joseph recorded in the Bible is a great example of how God turns what seems like terrible trouble into something good. Joseph was thrown into a pit by his brothers and left for dead, falsely accused of a crime and thrown into prison, but God used his circumstances to save the nation of Israel from extinction.

Bad things happen to good people, but God uses difficult situations to bring about good to His children. Maybe it’s the loss of a job and you feel that you’ll never find anything better, but God then gives you the opportunity you have always wanted. Your house is foreclosed on and you have to move, then God gives you a home that far surpasses the one you lost. Someone you love dearly dies through tragic circumstances and God uses your loved ones death to bring you to salvation.

These examples are true testimonies of people that we know who are now serving the Lord with gladness. If you are going through a difficult time in your life right now, trust the Lord to take that situation and turn it around for good. Do not get discouraged, these things do not happen overnight but sometimes it takes months or even years to be fulfilled.

Jesus Loves Me

September 1, 2015

Last evening Tom Curtis received a phone call from a Christian friend who is facing some very serious life threatening health problems. This friend became very fearful and almost was in the state of panic. Our friend lives 800 miles away in a different state.

Tom talked to him, prayed with him, and read some scripture to him. Finally,Tom and Carolyn started to sing “Jesus loves me this I know.”

That little children’s song calmed the heart of our Christian friend. He was able to drive to a friends home so he would not be alone. Tom stayed on the phone with him until we were sure he had gotten to a safe place.

Jesus loves me! This I know,

For the Bible tells me so;

Little ones to Him belong;

They are weak, but He is strong.

Refrain:

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! This I know,

As He loved so long ago,

Taking children on His knee,

Saying, “Let them come to Me.”

Jesus loves me still today,

Walking with me on my way,

Wanting as a friend to give

Light and love to all who live.

Jesus loves me! He who died

Heaven’s gate to open wide;

He will wash away my sin,

Let His little child come in.

Jesus loves me! He will stay

Close beside me all the way;

Thou hast bled and died for me,

I will henceforth live for Thee.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
