Stephanie Curtis, Leader with SOS Events Ministry, wanted to meet with her Pastor to explain the ministry and ask him to encourage his congregation to join with us. Instead he called her up front on Wednesday evening to pray and explain to the congregation what SOS Events Volunteers Do. After the service several people met with her for future training and to participate in events. They want to spread the gospel in Toledo and surrounding areas. Praise the Lord.
Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
National Pretzel Day
April 26, 2019
Sometimes we need something to make us smile. Everyday there is a Special National Day for something on that date that you probably never heard of. Today is April 26 and it is National Pretzel Day. Would the average person celebrate it. No! But it is a fun fact to make your Friday a little bit brighter.
Also, a reminder that with Jesus everyday is special and we do not need a special day to honor Him.
Psalms 145:2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
The Tomb is Sealed
April 20, 2019
Jesus is dead. The tomb is sealed. The disciples are in shock and grief. Is there no hope?
The days between the crucifixion and resurrection must have been really hard for the followers of Jesus. The One they had put their trust in, the One who was going to be King. Confused, sorrowful and disappointed they probably did nothing. Some waited together and others waited alone. People react differently when someone they love dies.
Today there are many people who have the same reaction to Jesus. Some doubt. Some do not believe in Him. Others reject Him. They do not realize what He can do for them.
Today is the day before Resurrection Sunday. Are you like these people or are you excited about tomorrow? The tomb did not stay sealed. The stone rolled away and JESUS arose. Let us celebrate the glorious resurrection not only tomorrow but everyday. JESUS lives…
Mark 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
The Best Diet
April 12, 2019
Christian fellowship often centers around food. Food is served at all kinds of events. In America we are blessed to have abundance and variety of whatever we choose to eat.
With that great blessing also comes responsibility to eat correctly. Diet plans are popular and also are available everywhere we look. We could and should be satisfied to have just a small taste of food that would not be good for our health. It is the temptation to over indulge because something looks good and tastes good, then we continue to eat it knowing it is not good for us. But there is something we can have that is extremely good for us and the more we indulge the better we are.
The Bible tells us to taste and see in Psalms. We can be blessed if we follow that advice. Trusting in The Lord Jesus is the best diet. Reading His Word daily, praying and following Him will bring blessings that no physical diet can ever bring in our lives.
Psalms 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Six Saved on Saturday
April 9, 2019
The crowd was sparse, even though it was a beautiful day in Florida. Maybe everyone went to the beach. But God was faithful and blessed the efforts of the volunteers with SOS Events Ministry. Six people accepted Jesus as their Savior.
Breanna, 10 years old stopped by with her Mother and several other children. She wanted to listen as the other children ran off to see other things. Her Mother was 100% sure she was going to Heaven but Breanna was not. With her Mother’s permission, Breanna asked Jesus to forgive her and invited Him to be her Savior. She is excited and looking forward to receiving her free Bible lesson.
Psalms 25:5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
