Move Forward

June 12, 2020

SOS Events Ministry office has been open throughout this whole time of stay at home directives because of coronavirus. We have not had any events or gatherings, however, there have been some wonderful opportunities for planning what is to come in the future.

God has sent us some new people. 2 new teen girls to help in the office, a new missionary couple, and an opportunity to add the state of Mississippi to our growing ministry.

When things do not go as we plan, the Lord does not want us to stop doing His will or calling for SOS Events. This time has been a time of planning, and growing, in spite of social distancing.

We are praying that events will soon open and once again our team members can be out witnessing to the lost.

Deuteronomy 5:32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

Jesus is Our Shelter

June 11, 2020

Are you going through a storm in your life? Jesus is our shelter. The Bible tells us many times not to fear. Cast all your cares on Jesus because he loves you and cares for you.

I Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Priority

June 9, 2020

God’s Word and your prayer should be the priority in your life. Get up 15 minutes early everyday to spend time alone with God and your day will go much smoother. If you are not in the habit of having devotions early in the morning, try it and see how you will be blessed.

Packing For Our Trip To Heaven

June 6, 2020

Just as we pack for a trip, there are things we need to “pack” on our journey toward Heaven. The first and most important is Salvation. Being saved is our ticket, and without it we cannot enter. Prayer, Faith, Love Joy, Patience, Goodness, Truth, Service, Witnessing and Forgiveness. (you may think of a few more) are needed for our trip.

In this picture is a cat which cannot be taken and on our life’s journey we need to leave out things also, Hate, Lying, Gossip, Pride and Disobedience are a few.

As you prepare for Heaven, what are you “packing” to be ready?

1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Pray for Your Pastor

May 31, 2020

The coronavirus has caused many problems for Pastors. Each Pastor has many decisions to make that involve not only his family but the people in his congregation.

As the churches begin to open again, it is the Pastors responsibility to keep people safe, give everyone encouragement and most importantly preach the gospel.

Pray for your Pastor today. Tell him or send him a note to be an encouragement to him.

1 Timothy 5:17 – Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Romans 15:30 – Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in [your] prayers to God for me;

The Wedding

May 26, 2020

On Saturday, there was a beautiful wedding at the Curtis home. Carolyn Curtis’ granddaughter Alex married the love of her life, Chris.

The wedding was planned earlier in the year but because of the coronavirus it had to be postponed. The venue was not available. Plans had to be changed. Waiting was difficult for the bride and groom, but the wedding was lovely.

The guest list had to be limited. Some people who would have liked to be there were not included.

We are reminded that someday, maybe soon, Jesus is coming for His bride.

Most people want to be in Heaven at the Marriage Feast but the guest list is limited to those who have trusted Jesus as their Savior.

That is one wedding you don’t want to miss. Invite Jesus into your heart and life today. Make Him the love of your life.

Revelation 17:7 & 9 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Prayer

May 23, 2020

Today when we want to communicate via phone we have freedom to talk (or text) anywhere, anytime without having to be in one place to use the phone as this child in the picture. Prayer is like that. We do not have to be in a specific place only able to speak to God in church or at a designated time of day. God is always ready to hear our prayers directly without any person, place or thing. Jesus is the reason we have a direct line to God.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
