July 3, 2018In times of stress, heartache, trials and problems we need one another. As Christians the greatest thing we can do is pray for a Christian brother or sister in their need. God answers prayer. When you see a person in need immediately offer to pray for them, even the unsaved will appreciate your care and concern. God hears and answers prayer.
Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Packing for Your Trip to Heaven

Just as we pack for a trip, there are things we need to “pack” on our journey toward Heaven. The first and most important is Salvation. Being saved is our ticket, and without it we cannot enter. Prayer, Faith, Love Joy, Patience, Goodness, Truth, Service, Witnessing and Forgiveness. (you may think of a few more) are needed for our trip. In this picture is a cat which cannot be taken and on our life’s journey we need to leave out things also, Hate, Lying, Gossip, Pride and Disobedience are a few. As you prepare for Heaven, what are you “packing” to be ready?

How to Witness
June 27, 2018Thank you Patty for sharing this quote by D. L. Moody. SOS Events trains people how to be soul winners, but without the Holy Spirit guiding and filling us, our witnessing will not be effective. When we witness at an event or one on one, it is essential that we are relying on the Holy Spirit to convict and bring the person to understand and trust Jesus to be their Savior. Pray that every one of our SOS Events volunteers are filled with the Spirit and if you want to be an soul winner, ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit.

Time
June 20, 2018Do you ever feel like time flies and you don’t have enough hours in the day to get everything done? We live in a world that keeps us so busy that sometimes we neglect the important things, friends, family but most importantly God. He should be the first priority in our lives and everyday should start out with reading His Word and prayer. If we take that time the rest will fall into place and we can accomplish what needs to be done.

Entertainment
June 18, 2018Entertainment is important to us as Christians especially in the USA where we have so much time to spend on sports, hobbies, TV or whatever we do for relaxation. The Bible tells us that whatever we do, do it for the glory of God. How we spend our “free” time is important. We must be careful to watch (TV or movies) and listen (music or conversation) to things that will bring glory to God in our personal lives and for those around us who look to us for spiritual guidance.
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

June 16, 2018Tomorrow is Father’s Day. A time to honor your Dad for all he does for you. Maybe your father is no longer here or he was never there for you. You have a FATHER who loves you, protects you and will always be there for you. Give thanks for your physical father, and especially for GOD THE FATHER.
