SOS Events Ministry is coming into the busiest time of the year. Fall Festivals, Races, Fairs and many other events take place between now and the middle of November. Soul winning volunteers are desperately needed in all areas. If you have been a volunteer in the past but have not participated in awhile please say yes when you are contacted to work an event. Have you ever been waiting for an important letter or package to come and it seems like forever? It may be from a friend that you haven’t seen in a long time, or the passport or official document you need before you upcoming trip, or that special outfit for a special occasion. You check the mailbox everyday without anything except useless ads. Finally it’s here. What joy and relief. It was worth the wait. God tells us to wait on Him for things we need and ask Him in prayer. Waiting is hard but God’s timing is always perfect.
Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
SOS Events Ministry teaches and trains Christians who are not ashamed of the gospel, but may be fearful or uncertain how to give the gospel, how to present it in a simple non confrontational way. Lightning strikes during a storm and the power from that causes the power to go out in our home. Two kinds of power. The huge powerful lightning bolt and the power of electricity the gives light in our home but can be interrupted by a storm.
What kind of power do you have in your life? Huge power that God gives us through the Holy Spirit or do you do things in your own power that can be interrupted by circumstances or fear? We have access to the great power God promises. Do you use it to be a witness for Him?
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
As our children in America go back to school soon, what we expect them to do? Learn, be obedient and respectful to their teachers and make good friends. How much more should we as Christians become as children. God wants us to study His Word, be obedient to Him, respect our pastors and teachers and have fellowship with other believers. Are you His child?
Our lives can change in a split second. Maybe it’s a phone call that a loved one has been rushed to the hospital, an accident or a unexpected death of a family member. Whatever the emergency as Christians we have someone to give us direction in that time of uncertainty and stress. Jesus is with us and will guide us through. Don’t panic but look to Him first. Stay calm, pray and trust that whatever the problem He is with you.
Proverbs 3:56 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
The final results for the SOS Events booth at the Genesee County Fair in New York was 47 salvation decisions. Families, teens, men and women from various walks of life have their lives changed when they come to an SOS Events booth at events. This story may or may not be true, but it is something to think about. As Christians we must be careful how we treat others. Sometimes our attitude, especially at church can make a huge difference in another’s life. Are we friendly, kind and helpful to those who come to church? Do we make visitors feel welcome? If someone is alone do we offer to sit by them to make them feel more comfortable? Look around and see if you can be the difference in someone’s life at church today.
Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
