Several of SOS Events Leaders and Volunteers are going through some difficult times. Illness, death of loved ones, financial problems and family difficulties. This beautiful poem is to encourage each one. Also, to ask for prayer for all the SOS Events volunteers. God did not promise freedom from trials even when we are faithfully serving Him, but He does show His love to us and comforts us in our trials.
2 Corinthians 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.



The American flag and the eagle, symbols of freedom for those of us who live in the USA. Freedom is something we are thankful for, however, there are many people from other countries who do not have the liberty we have. Freedom to worship and serve God without fear. For those people there is good news. Jesus gives us freedom within. If we have Jesus we are free, no matter where we are or what the circumstances.
John 8:36 If the Son (Jesus) therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Those of us who live in America are blessed. We have freedom and liberty to worship as we please along with many other blessings guaranteed by our Constitution. However, not everyone in the USA feels free because they are bound by guilt and sin. The good news is that no matter where we live in the world we can have true freedom and liberty through Jesus Christ. Peace and freedom comes from Him and dwells within our heart.
Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

On the “Today Show”, one of the wives of one of the Navy Seals killed along with the US ambassador in Libya. He asked what she would say to her children about their dad and how she would want them to remember him. Her answer, and I quote, “His love for Christ”, and then continued on with a few other things. Throughout the day and on MSN homepage, replaying the story, they have edited the “Love of Christ” part out. Why? Because using the word Christ might offend someone! Well, I am a Christian and I am offended! I’m offended that they would edit it out. Offended that we as Christians are asked to tread lightly so as not to offend someone of another religion. This man loved his country and loved his God and gave his life for both, just as Christ gave His life for him.
This Founding Principle is actually embedded in our Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
