“Any method of Evangelism will work if God is in it.” Leonard Ravenhill
Event Evangelism, Inc. is the legal name of SOS Events Ministry. Those names were chosen very carefully. Event because that is where the Gospel is presented. Evangelism because that is what we do. SOS stands for Serving Our Savior at Events. The goal is to present the Gospel to as many people as possible.
There are many areas that have very little gospel presentation outside the church. Events take place in every community and the opportunities are unlimited. SOS Events ministry can prepare you to become an effective witness in your area. All it takes is an email or phone call.
Matthew 9:37 & 38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Do you pray for your Pastor? Pastors have great responsibility. They have problems in their lives, just like all of us.
They have a family, that alone is is challenging. Wife, children, siblings and maybe aging parents. Then they have the congregation and take on the joys and sorrows of maybe hundreds of people. Not to mention the meetings, counseling and other events in the community they feel they have to attend.
Many pastors cannot deal with all the problems that come with being a Pastor. Please take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and pray for your pastor right now. If you know more than one pastor pray for them also. Pray that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit as they preach and teach.
Then pray that when you go to church you will have an open heart and a listening ear to hear what the man of God has to say.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
On the SOS Events display board there is a question. “Are you 50%, 75% or 100% sure if you died today you would go to Heaven?
That is an important question, but what if you leave out the first line? It would read, If you died today you would go to Heaven.
What is the difference? The sentence that asked the question makes a person wonder if they know they will go to Heaven and makes them think about wanting to know how to get there.
Leave that out and the whole meaning changes. Now it is telling the person reading it that if they die they will go to Heaven.
Words make a difference. Change even one word and the meaning can change. Leave a word out and the meaning can change. Even rearranging words can change the meaning .
The Bible has many versions today. Some of these versions change words and even meanings of what God wants us to know.
Study for yourself and see what God wants to say to you.
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:26
This church in the photo looks empty and forsaken . Many churches, especially, the small ones die because the people are not faithful.
If circumstances don’t hinder you, go to your church. It is important to encourage the Pastor. You do not want to be part of your church door closing.
Another reason to go to a good Bible believing church is to grow in the knowledge of Jesus. Also, we need the fellowship of other believers.
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;” Titus 2:13
Have you ever been excited about a special guest or loved one coming to your house?
You prepare by cleaning, cooking and making sure everything is ready. maybe you don’t know the exact time when they will arrive. Looking out the window, listening for every car or footstep to make sure you are there to greet them.
Christian, that is how much more should we be excited about Jesus coming again. The Bible tells us He is coming in the clouds. We do not know the day or hour but He is coming and it may be soon.
Are you preparing? Is your heart clean from sin? Every area in your life has been given to Him.
Are you reading the Bible everyday, praying and looking for Jesus to come with anticipation?
Jesus is coming. Are you ready?
Titus 2:13 – Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; For his mercy endureth for ever. (1 Chronicles 16:34 KJV)
Can you honestly say God is good? God is good all the time has become a popular expression among Christians.
But, do we really mean it? Can we say God is good when tragedy comes? When we loose a loved one. Maybe a lost job, our home or wayward children.
GOD IS GOOD! We can look back on some of these heartaches and see that He was there through it all.
There was a time when I had a hard time thinking about God’s goodness, when my son died, but looking back I realize that God used that in my life to strengthen me. He was there to lift me up in my darkest hour.
God is there for you. In good times and bad we can honestly say, God is good.
