Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Acts 20:28
How is the church you attend doing? Are people being saved and trained to win others to Jesus? Are you being feed or are you being entertained?
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1Peter 4:10
What do I love?
What am I good at?
What does the world need?
These are good questions to ask yourself when seeking the Lord’s Will about serving Him.
Every Christian has talents the Lord has given to you. There are a verity of gifts. Serving the Lord is a joy.
Do you love to write, sing, serve others or have people in your home? All these things and more can be used to bring others to know Jesus.
Are you good at teaching, speaking, working with children or the elderly? God can use the things you are good at to further the gospel.
What the world needs is Jesus. We are called to be witnesses. It is not a suggestion, it is a command. Use your love and your talent to serve the Lord.
All these people are going in the wrong direction. 50 years ago today a crowd of 600,00 people went to a rock concert in Watkins Glen, NY. Most of them, if not all, were going to an event not realizing that they were going to a place that could not help them find the way to eternal life.
There is only one way to spend eternity in Heaven.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Colossians 3:16 – Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
“Any method of Evangelism will work if God is in it.” Leonard Ravenhill
Event Evangelism, Inc. is the legal name of SOS Events Ministry. Those names were chosen very carefully. Event because that is where the Gospel is presented. Evangelism because that is what we do. SOS stands for Serving Our Savior at Events. The goal is to present the Gospel to as many people as possible.
There are many areas that have very little gospel presentation outside the church. Events take place in every community and the opportunities are unlimited. SOS Events ministry can prepare you to become an effective witness in your area. All it takes is an email or phone call.
Matthew 9:37 & 38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Do you pray for your Pastor? Pastors have great responsibility. They have problems in their lives, just like all of us.
They have a family, that alone is is challenging. Wife, children, siblings and maybe aging parents. Then they have the congregation and take on the joys and sorrows of maybe hundreds of people. Not to mention the meetings, counseling and other events in the community they feel they have to attend.
Many pastors cannot deal with all the problems that come with being a Pastor. Please take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and pray for your pastor right now. If you know more than one pastor pray for them also. Pray that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit as they preach and teach.
Then pray that when you go to church you will have an open heart and a listening ear to hear what the man of God has to say.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
On the SOS Events display board there is a question. “Are you 50%, 75% or 100% sure if you died today you would go to Heaven?
That is an important question, but what if you leave out the first line? It would read, If you died today you would go to Heaven.
What is the difference? The sentence that asked the question makes a person wonder if they know they will go to Heaven and makes them think about wanting to know how to get there.
Leave that out and the whole meaning changes. Now it is telling the person reading it that if they die they will go to Heaven.
Words make a difference. Change even one word and the meaning can change. Leave a word out and the meaning can change. Even rearranging words can change the meaning .
The Bible has many versions today. Some of these versions change words and even meanings of what God wants us to know.
Study for yourself and see what God wants to say to you.
