Trust and Obey

July 19, 2018

Some of our old hymns and songs of the faith are being lost in this generation. Let us try to keep the messages alive with the old music along with the new. A great message in one of them is “Trust and Obey” was written by John H. Sammis in 1887. Read the words and you will not want this message to be lost:

1 When we walk with the Lord

in the light of his word,

what a glory he sheds on our way!

While we do his good will,

he abides with us still,

and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way

to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a burden we bear,

not a sorrow we share,

but our toil he doth richly repay;

not a grief or a loss,

not a frown or a cross,

but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]

3 But we never can prove

the delights of his love

until all on the altar we lay;

for the favor he shows,

for the joy he bestows,

are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]

4 Then in fellowship sweet

we will sit at his feet,

or we’ll walk by his side in the way;

what he says we will do,

where he sends we will go;

never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]

Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

New Events

July 2, 2018

It is so exciting to have people call that they have found a new event for SOS Events to have a booth to witness for the Lord. This morning we got a call from our Regional Team Leader, Stephanie, in Ohio. She found an event in August, the Swanton Corn Festival on August 18th. A new venue, new volunteers and more souls to be saved. Another blessing is that SOS Events cofounder, Carolyn Curtis, will be there to help with this new event. Please pray for this particular event and that more new events will be available for us..

Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Alabama Team Leaders Meeting

July 1, 2018

Thanks so much to Eastmont for hosting our SOS State Leaders Meeting. It’s always special when our Ms. Carolyn is present and a pleasure to meet William Slater. The fellowship and wonderful testimony of those that came was a blessing and the meal was amazing. We are so proud to be a part of this life saving ministry. We are ready to get out there and share the 3 Things God Cannot Do and win souls for the Kingdom. Beth Walker

Wednesday Mornings

June 21, 2018

Wednesday Mornings have once again been blessed. This week 15 precious people were saved at the Plant City Flea Market. Every week God blesses the efforts of SOS Events soul winners who go to the market before sunrise to set up a booth and get ready to talk to people about Jesus. When we go, the Holy Spirit works in the hearts of men and women, boys and girls to hear the gospel. Praise the Lord.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Time

June 20, 2018

Do you ever feel like time flies and you don’t have enough hours in the day to get everything done? We live in a world that keeps us so busy that sometimes we neglect the important things, friends, family but most importantly God. He should be the first priority in our lives and everyday should start out with reading His Word and prayer. If we take that time the rest will fall into place and we can accomplish what needs to be done.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Reminder!

June 16, 2018

Tomorrow is Father’s Day. A time to honor your Dad for all he does for you. Maybe your father is no longer here or he was never there for you. You have a FATHER who loves you, protects you and will always be there for you. Give thanks for your physical father, and especially for GOD THE FATHER.

Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

Family

June 13, 2018

You may be from a very large family or a small one, but being part of a family is a great blessing. Family sticks together through good times and bad. Someone is there to be with you to join in laughter or tears. Siblings have a special bond that should last for a lifetime. Maybe you are an only child or have had what seems to be an unrepairable disagreement with a family member. Good news! If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are in the family of God and you have a friend that is closer than a brother. Jesus is with you always and you can go to Him with your joys and sorrows.

Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Praying is work. Have you ever been praying and your mind will wander to a different subject? Or not been able to get to sleep and decided to pray and in just a little while you have fallen asleep?

Prayer is the one weapon the that Satan does not want you to use. Prayer will give you answers to problems or decisions that you are unsure about. God delights in hearing from His children.

The most wonderful thing is that He is interested in the smallest things in our lives and He loves to have us ask for them. Need a parking place or want to have someone call you that you haven’t heard from in awhile? Then there it is.. the parking place right in front of the building. The phone rings and the person who you wanted to talk to is calling. Coincidence some people say. No, answer to prayer from a loving Father who loves His children, and likes to give good things to them.

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
