Holidays are something to be thankful for because it gives us time to be with family and friends.
It is time to stop and count our many blessings thar God has given us.
As we go now into the time of year when many holidays are celebrated, we as Christians must let our lights shine bright.
Christmas lights are everywhere. Shopping and the hustle of parties and other activities take our time and attention, we must remember it is the perfect time to witness for Jesus.
So be thankful for the holidays coming and use this time wisely.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.Matthew 5:16
God’s Word, the Bible. His way of communication with us.
All the answers to life’s problems and concerns are found in the Bible.
Where did I come from? How can I know what to do with my life? How do I choose a spouse? What should my relationship be with my children? Neighbors? Friends?
Is there life after death? How do I get to spend eternity with God?
All of life’s questions are answered in the Bible. God wants to bless us and He does give us the answers, but we have to be reading, searching and understanding what He has to say to us in His Word.
Today give thanks to God for giving us His written Word. Then make it a priority in your life everyday.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
How are you doing in your daily thanks to the Lord as we look forward to Thanksgiving Day.
On Thanksgiving we look forward to a great meal, turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing and the best part dessert. A true feast in most homes in America.
There are many people who are not as blessed as we are. Not only on Thanksgiving but everyday of the year. Hunger. They do not know where their next meal is coming from, maybe a soup kitchen or a charitable organization.
How about you? Are you truly grateful for your daily bread? Today, take time to thank The Lord for His blessing. Do not wait until Thanksgiving Day to give thanks.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
What a beautiful day on Saturday. Weather was perfect. Venue at the Red Barn Ranch in Plant City, Florida was great.
SOS Events Ministry was there with willing volunteers and a new worker who speaks fluent Spanish. That is an answer to prayer.
The best blessing of it all was that 10 people invited Jesus to be their Savior. Every opportunity to present the Gospel is what we are thankful for.
Many of us are blessed to have brothers or sisters. It is a special bond that can only be understood by those who have a brother or sister.
Maybe you do not have a sibling but have always desired to have that relationship.
You can fill your life with friends that are sometimes closer than physical siblings.
As Christians we are born into God’s family and that makes us brothers and sisters in Christ. That is also a special bond that we share with one another.
Today, pray and thank the Lord for your siblings and for your spiritual brothers and sisters.
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12 KJV
Waking up in the morning to a beautiful sunny day.
As darkness falls the lights in our homes allows us to enjoy the evening.
The lights of a city skyline at night. How we complain when electricity goes out, even for a few minutes or longer. Light is important.
The Bible tells us a lot about light. Jesus is the light of the world. Without Him we would be in total darkness spiritually.
His Word also tells us that as Christians we are light. He uses a candle as the illustration. Do not hide your light under a bushel. It is our responsibility to tell others of the wonderful light we have. Jesus.
Today, thank the Lord for His light and then share that light with someone.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:15-16
You may have a very large family or you think you have no family at all.
If God has blessed you with a good family, thank Him today.
Maybe your loved ones have passed on or your family is dysfunctional. I have good news for you!
When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are born again. We become part of His family. We have all the rights and privileges as His child. That is something to be truly thankful for.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12
Today is Veterans Day in the USA. A day to remember the brave men and women who fought so that we can live in freedom.
Also, a special thanks to the people who are in the military today.
We are free to choose our leaders, we are free to rear our children as we please, we are free to follow the path to any career we desire, and much more, because of the sacrifice of these men and women in the military.
Most of all we are free to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus, who gives us true spiritual freedom.
Philippians 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you
Thank the Lord for your friends. Some people have few friends, some have many friends.
A friend is someone who loves you in any circumstance. They laugh with you when you are happy and cry with you when you are sad, they accept you with all your faults and if you disagree they will come to an agreement even if it is to disagree agreeably. Sometimes a friend will disappoint you but they are still there for you when you need them.
There is one true friend that is always with you and that is Jesus. For the Christian He is the closest friend you will ever have and he never disappoints you. He listens to every prayer and has the power to answer. He comforts when you are hurting or sick. He is with you in your joys and in your sorrow. 24/7 He is there.
We are thankful for our friends here on earth but most thankful for Jesus who is ever present in our lives.
John 15:15 – Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
