Do you know the answer to this riddle?
A clue is in the following Bible verse.

Luke 1:37
For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Consider the Ant

January 10, 2015

The ant is a remarkable creature–
The most laborious insects in existence. The most highly industrialized. They collect food in proper seasons. Fondly attached to their young. They have keen foresight for others. They work quietly without show. They work tirelessly until the work is done. They work together in astonishing systems of organization to the best good of the whole community. They are ingenious carpenters and masons, building their own system of homes and underground tunnels. They keep their homes scrupulously clean. Each has a specific job to help meet the needs of the community. They fight to death to protect their own homes and young from enemies. Their social life compares with that of human beings in many respects. They are intelligent and wise. They carry out life’s work without being forced to do so by a guide, overseer, or ruler.
In our lives we have people like the ant and we also have people like sluggards. That is true especially in ministry. SOS Events are blessed to have many people who are like the ant. Willing to do whatever it takes to see souls saved.
There are a few who say they want to work but when asked to do something they always find an excuse.
In the work of the Lord, which one are you?

Proverbs 6:6-7
Go to the ant, thou sluggard;
consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
Provideth her meat in the summer,
and gathereth her food in the harvest.

SAD

January 7, 2015

Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD is the medical term for lack of natural sunlight. In the Northern hemisphere we are now in the winter season, the time of year that SAD becomes a problem.
Most parts of the world have three low-sunlight seasons. Some people have proved more susceptible to Seasonal Affective Disorder. Those with higher risk factors include women, those who live farthest from the equator (Eskimos, for example) and those whose family histories include members who have suffered from seasonal affective issues. This causes physical,
mental disorders and depression, and should be taken seriously. It could reach feelings of isolation, coupled with severe hopelessness and, perhaps, suicidal thoughts. Doctors suggest artificial light, extra vitamin D and even medication for depression.
SAD is a good acronym for this disorder. There is additional “treatment” that should help in any situation. The Christian already has the answer and the unbeliever needs to know. Jesus said that He is the light of the world. If you are a Christian then look to Him for spiritual light. If you do not know Him as your Savior, ask Him to come into your heart and life today. He will help you get through times of sadness.

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world:he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Hebrews 13:6
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Good News

January 4, 2015

The first new day of the first new week of the new year starts today. Some people are looking forward to a new workweek, others are dreading the prospect of going back to work or school tomorrow. A few may feel hopeless but there is good news. If you are a Christian there are many promises in God’s Word the Bible.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
If you are not a Christian there are promises in God’s Word for you also.
John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
To receive Him, (JESUS), ask Him to forgive your sins, believe He died on the cross, was buried, and rose again after the third day, and that He did, so you could be saved. Then call on Him in prayer.

Christian Music

January 3, 2015

Music is very important to the Christian believer. Today Christian music takes on many forms. Hymns, traditional, contemporary, rock, pop, country and several others.
Much of it has taken on the beat of the secular world. This is where the Christian needs to be wise in what kind of music they hear.
God loves to be worshiped in song. David, a man after God’s heart was a song writer, singer and played an instrument. Music was the only thing that calmed King Saul when he was agitated.
Does the music honor God? Is it praise to Him or just something that makes the listener feel good. Is it music that would tempt the listener into going back into their old lifestyle or is it something that lifts the soul and the spirit?
Like everything in the Christian life we make choices. Pray about the kind of music you regularly listen to.

Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

New Years Eve

December 31, 2014

2014 is almost over. Today is New Years Eve. Many people will be out partying. There will be accidents, fights and confusion for some who think they are having a good time, only to wake up in the morning with a headache and regrets.
There are some people who are good moral folks, who truly want to turn over a new leaf, as the expression goes, but will find that they will fall back into their same old life in just a few days or weeks.
Then there is the Christian, who knows that a new life can only begin with asking JESUS to forgive their sin, come into their heart and make their life new. CHRISTIANS look forward to 2015 with a different outlook. They know that whatever happens in the New Year, they have a friend, companion and Holy Spirit in them that helps them walk in newness of life.
If you are in the first or second group but would like a true new beginning, ask Jesus to save you today.
Our prayer for all is that you will have a safe and Happy New Years Eve and that 2015 will be blessed.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Volunteers for Jesus

December 29, 2014

While many people were still celebrating the Christmas season over the weekend, SOS Events had 3 dedicated volunteers go to the Big Top Flea Market in Tampa, Florida to witness for the Lord.
Ten people received the gift of salvation at that booth.
Ten people are on their way to heaven because three men gave up a few hours of their time to witness for our Lord.
SOS is blessed to have volunteers all over the USA who give of their time and energy to bring people to Jesus in all seasons.
There is room for many more in SOS wherever you live. Imagine just a few hours a week or a month in any season and you can have the joy of seeing people come to Christ.
It is simple and fun. A team ministry. Contact SOS for more information.
Email: info@sosevents.org or call the Founder, Tom. He will personally talk to you about how you can become a soul winner with SOS. (813)784-8242.

2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season;

Gift to Jesus

December 27, 2014

Did you remember to give JESUS the gift He wanted for Christmas? Many years ago, a little boy only two or three years old was in a Christmas program at a small church.
I have never forgotten the words this small child spoke on that day.
“I’m not very big
Nor very tall you see
but to the dear Lord Jesus
I give all of me.”
That small child is now a man an has given his life to the Lord working with children and influencing multitudes of lives to give their all to Jesus also.
Have you given all of you to Jesus?

Mark 10:21
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest:go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven:and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

No Room?

December 24, 2014

Joseph must have been frantically looking for a place to stay for the night. Mary was probably already in labor. She was young, it was her first child and she was going through the same pain in childbirth that every mother has when giving birth.
Bethlehem was full of travelers. It was a small village with a very limited number of inns. Maybe only one, and the was no room. The innkeeper took pity on Joseph and Mary and allowed them room in his stable.
Most people look at the innkeeper as unfeeling but if you think about it he really did an act of kindness, plus scripture was being fulfilled.
If the innkeeper had known who was to be born in his stable, maybe he would have given up his own room for JESUS.
JESUS wants the best from us. Our gift to Him this Christmas should be giving Him every room in our heart.

Luke 2:7
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
