John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
“We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results.”
R. A. Torrey 1856-1928
This quote was accurate 100 years ago, how much truer it is today. Are you too busy to pray? Lack power in your life? What about your church?
It is the command to every Christian and every church to win people to Christ but it cannot be done without the Holy Spirit power, which comes from prayer.
Jude 1:20
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
“A friend is a treasure who loves you as you are, sees not only who you are but who you can become, is there to catch you when you fall, accepts you today just as you are and comes in when your whole world has fallen apart.”
Charles Stanley
Proverbs 17:17
A friend loveth at all times,
Looking through past posts, the following blog was found, posted over a year ago. How are we as a nation doing? Things have not gotten better, only worse. Unrest all around, not only in the USA but world wide. Wars and rumors of wars as the Bible predicted.
“The USA is in trouble today because the leaders are looking for wisdom in the wrong places.
They have no understanding of what wisdom is, they seek answers from man instead of turning to God. We have banned God from our schools, taken the 10 Commandments off our buildings and forbidden prayer at public events. Will we wake up in time or continue down this path of destruction?”
Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Quote by John R. Rice. 1896-1980
“To leave this matter of saving souls to preachers is not only heartless; it is inexcusably wicked.”
John R. Rice was a great man of God, pastor, evangelist, author, song writer and soul winner. Founder of ” Sword of the Lord” newspaper.
He was a man of few words in personal conversation but a powerhouse in the pulpit. One of his favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 11:30
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life;
and he that winneth souls is wise.
