Palm Sunday

April 5, 2020

Today is Palm Sunday. The Bible tells us that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and people honored Him with palms and shouts of Praise. Hosanna!

Just a few days later, some of these same people shouted, Crucify him, crucify him. How quickly their cry changed.

In this time of fear and uncertainty, many will turn to Jesus for help and comfort, but when this threat passes will they turn back to their old ways and walk away! What about you?

The Lord Reigns!

March 31, 2020

Rejoice it’s a something that many of us do not feel right now, however, God tells us to Praise Him in all things. Today the challenge is to Praise the Lord. We have so many blessings. Let’s focus on them.

We have a Savior who loves us no matter what. He will take care of us. We think the worst thing could happen is that we get sick and die. If we are His child what is the threat? Heaven. Think about it.

Courage for today!

Goodbye January

January 31, 2020

The last day of January. Praying that you had a great start to 2020. Now let us look forward to February and beyond. If our work for the Lord was good in January, let’s make February even better. Did we have some disappointments? They are behind and a new month begins tomorrow. So, goodbye January and welcome February!

Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

JESUS

January 4, 2020

A good way to start the New Year is to honor and worship Jesus. We are going to review some of His names.

JESUS meaning GOD IS SALVATION. Yahweh saves.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.”

Christmas is Past

December 30, 2019

Christmas is over, time to take down the beautiful decorations and keeping in our hearts the memories of Christmas 2019. It always makes me sad to put away those wonderful things that make Christmas special every year. As we put away the lights, tree, nativity sets, let us NOT put away the truth of Christmas, Jesus was born into this world to be our Savior, and it is our responsibility to tell others. So let us make a resolution to be better witnesses in 2020, and Serve Our Savior with more zeal than we ever had before.

Acts 26:22-23 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come. That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.:

Anna

December 27, 2019

Anna, a prophet, was also there in the Temple. She was the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, and was very old. She was a widow, for her husband had died when they had been married only seven years.

Probably, after her husbands death, Anna would have been encouraged to get married again and have children. Anna,  chose to stay single. She chose to serve the Lord. She chose to fast and pray, worshiping the Lord day and night. She told people the news of the Savior that was coming, no matter how long it might be before he came. She knew her purpose and she didn’t let anyone’s opinions or comments keep her from it. Then Anna saw Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus in the temple and knew her purpose had been fulfilled.

Luke 2:36-38 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption i

No Room

December 19, 2019

Joseph must have been frantically looking for a place to stay for the night. Mary was probably already in labor. She was young, it was her first child and she was going through the same pain in childbirth that every mother has when giving birth. Bethlehem was full of travelers. It was a small village with a very limited number of inns. Maybe only one, and the was no room. The innkeeper took pity on Joseph and Mary and allowed them room in his stable.

Most people look at the innkeeper as unfeeling but if you think about it he really did an act of kindness, plus scripture was being fulfilled.

If the innkeeper had known who was to be born in his stable, maybe he would have given up his own room for JESUS.

JESUS wants the best from us. Our gift to Him this Christmas should be giving Him every room in our heart.

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
