Four Saved in Columbus

June 1, 2015

Randy and Romona Thomas traveled to Ohio to work with a church at the “churchyard event” this past weekend. Four adults were saved and one of the couples are pictured below. SOS Events is blessed to have people willing to go wherever God leads them to win souls to Christ.

“Brandon and Amanda came to Christ, along with another couple, at Turning Point Church’s outreach event on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.

It’s past time for our churches to reach out to their communities with the gospel! Be sure to tell others where ever you go.”

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Home Health Nurse Saved

May 18, 2015

Tom is home from the hospital and a nurse comes to the house to treat the wound on his foot. Paul was one of the nurses.

He said he is one of only 6% of all the nurses who are male and Tom was blessed to have him come to the house. As they talked the conversation turned to the subject of salvation. Tom as usual handed Paul a tract and asked him if he had ever seen the “3 Things God Cannot Do”

Paul said he had never heard about the 3 things.

Tom told him: 1. God cannot lie. Titus 1:2.    2. God cannot change. Malachi 3:6.   3. God cannot let anyone in heaven unless they are born again. John 3:3-5.

Then he asked Paul if he had ever been saved. When Paul answered “No” Tom proceeded to explain the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

Paul bowed his head and invited JESUS to be his Savior.

Romans 8:38 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Roxanne

May 14, 2015

Roxanne is a nurse in the hospital where Tom Curtis  is being treated. The first day that Tom was there he led Roxanne to the Lord. She once again is his nurse 5 days later and you can see the joy on her face as she now knows JESUS as her Savior.
Tom jokingly said that everyone of SOS workers and volunteers should have a stay in the hospital because it is a mission field.

Psalms 51:13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Rejoicing in Time of Trouble

May 11, 2015

One of Tom Curtis’s favorite verse is Romans 8:28. Being in the hospital is not always the most pleasant experiences, but Tom is not ever going to let an occasion to witness pass him by.

One of the nurses, a woman from Jamaca originally, was taking care of him and he asked her if she had ever invited JESUS to save her. This was after they had talked about the Lord at length.

She replied that she knew about JESUS but never had trusted Him to save her. In that hospital room, Roxanne, bowed her head repented of her sin and ask the Lord to forgive her. There is rejoicing, even in circumstances that are not easy.

Please pray for Tom as he is a diabetic and has a circulation problem in his feet that may require surgery. Also, he is scheduled for his heart pacemaker to be changed, but that will probably be put on hold until his foot heals. JESUS is the great physician and can heal. Thank you for your prayers for him.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Written Testimony

March 30, 2015

SOS Events gets name, address, phone number, age and a testimony from the people who make decisions for Christ.

There is a question on the decision card that reads, What did JESUS do for you today when you prayed?

The quote is from a 12 year old, “He came into my heart today to live there and be my Savior.”

1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Reason for Rejoicing

March 26, 2015

Rejoice! 18 more people will be in Heaven because God blesses faithful witnesses. Plant City Flea Market is bustling this time of year on Wednesday mornings. SOS Events volunteers are there just as the sun is coming up. Yesterday, eighteen people walked by the SOS booth, stopped, heard the gospel and trusted JESUS as their Savior.

There is rejoicing. The new converts are joyful, the soul winner is thrilled and even the Angels in Heaven rejoice also. God gives the increase. One sure cure for discouragement is to win someone to Christ.

Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Philippians 2:16

This is an actual testimony written on the back of a SOS Events decision card by a 14 year old girl named Alyson. She is just one of the 250 people who trusted Christ at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fl last year. Tomorrow is opening day. Please pray for many to be saved at this event.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us- ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Pray for SOS

February 20, 2015

Great things happen when witnessing at events. One of the favorite events is Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida. The following story is from that event in 2008.
One exciting thing happened with two young boys who came in the booth to be saved. As Tom was filling out the card (we get name, address, age, phone # and a short testimony from each person who makes a decision) the 2 boys came back, each one holding the arm of their mother. One of the boys actually pushed his mother into a chair so Tom could tell her and their father how to get to Heaven. Both Mom & Dad received Christ and what a joyful time that was for this family of 4.
You can participate in the event by praying for SOS. Pray for souls and for workers. The 11 day event opens next week February 26.

Matthew 9:38
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
