If you have a Pastor who preaches truth from God’s Word, is not afraid to tell of the sin that may be in your life, warns of evil that may entice you to sin, be thankful. Pray for him that he will have the power of the Holy Spirit, that he will not be afraid of offending someone when he is bold to tell the truth.
Encourage him with a kind word or send him a note once in awhile. Tell him you are praying for him and appreciate what he does.
1 Timothy 5:17 – Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
Hebrews 13:17 – Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Do you ever feel like your prayers do not go any farther than the ceiling?
That is not true. God’s Word tells us He hears and answers our prayer.
But, our prayers can be hindered by several things, sin in our lives, unbelief, trying to get the answer ourselves, disobedience and not waiting are just a few things that may hinder our prayers.
The secret is in this verse. Love the Lord. The closer we are to Him, the more our prayers will be in line for His will for us.
I asked GOD for strength, that I might achieve I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey. I asked for health, that I might do greater things I was given infirmity, that I might do better things. I asked for riches, that I might be happy I was given poverty, that I might be wise. I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of GOD. I asked for all things , that I might enjoy life I was given life, that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing I asked for —– But everything I had hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were Answered I am among all people, most richly blessed.
God gave us the Pastor of our church to help us get through hard times. The Pastor officiates at our wedding, celebrates the birth of our children, prays with us in sickness and sorrows, and at the death of a loved one.
All the time having the same problems we have in his own family. He needs our prayers. Take a few minutes and pray for him today.
Pray he will have power of the Holy Spirit to preach the truth. Pray he will not be distracted by people or circumstances. Pray God will comfort him as he has the burden of his own but also takes the burdens of his whole congregation.
Most of all do not have roast preacher for lunch. Do not talk negatively about him or his family. Let us love our Pastor and show him our appreciation.

What can we do now? Pray for those who are hurting that you know personally. Pray for families who have lost loved ones in the military. Pray for our leaders in government that have to make decisions. Pray for the Lord to give you peace and comfort.
The SOS Events office and homes of many volunteers are in the path of the storm named Elsa.
Storms can be dangerous. Fallen trees, floods, wind, rain and tornadoes are results of this storm.
What do we do during a storm? Get prepared. Have food and water on hand and listen to instructions. Then trust God to bring us through unharmed.
Storms in your life, you need preparation to survive.
In times of your storm, be prepared. Get ready by reading God’s Word everyday, praying for guidance and resting in God’s promises. He will give you peace and bring you through the storm.
Psalms 33:1Psalms 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
God has blessed America. We live in a country the is imperfect but we have freedom to worship as we please.
Today, Independence Day, let us take time away from the celebrations and give thanks to God for our freedoms.
Christians pray for our country, that we may turn back to the Lord. God’s Word is truth and if we want to continue to live in peace and freedom the only hope is for a revival before it is forever too late.
In this photo is Tom Curtis, cofounder of SOS Events Ministry, with one of his many grandchildren. He was faithful to pray for his grandchildren daily. He is now with the Lord but his prayers are still being answered for his grandchildren.
