Jesus is THE GOOD SHEPHERD, however, someone else is a shepherd also, he is the Pastor of your church.
Pastors look after their flock. That is you and me. They look for lost souls, they bring comfort when we are sick or hurt, they keep us from getting into sin through their preaching.
Pastors who love Jesus and look to Him for help and guidance, they want their sheep to follow Him. Pray for your pastor today!
I asked GOD for strength, that I might achieve I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey. I asked for health, that I might do greater things I was given infirmity, that I might do better things. I asked for riches, that I might be happy I was given poverty, that I might be wise. I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of GOD. I asked for all things , that I might enjoy life I was given life, that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing I asked for —– But everything I had hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were Answered I am among all people, most richly blessed.
Tom Floyd has been going to a local thrift store once or twice a week for about 6 years. He sets up a small table with the SOS Events “3 Things GOD Can Not Do” display board.
Over the years, he has had many opportunities to give people the gospel. People respond. Sometimes they accept Jesus as their Savior, or they ask for prayer about a problem.
God blesses the faithful person who never gives up. Thank you, Tom for you faithfulness.
Proverbs 28:20 – A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
Labor Day is a holiday in the USA to honor men and women in the workplace. It is a day set aside to celebrate with parades, picnics and family gatherings.
The Bible tells us a lot about labor:
Exodus 20:9-11 – Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Ephesians 4:28 – Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
1 Thessalonians 1:3 – Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
These are just a few verses, there are many more. A good study. If you are struggling with burdens today these following verses will bring you comfort and rest:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11: 28-30
Times now are uncertain. The news is full of gloom and doom. Weather disasters, Covid-19, Afghanistan, Government scandals, Deaths. It seems hopeless, but as Christians, we have a SAVIOR, JESUS.
In GOD’s Word are many promises. The present may be hard but we have a glorious future to look forward to.
What can we do now? Pray for those who are hurting that you know personally. Pray for families who have lost loved ones in the military. Pray for our leaders in government that have to make decisions. Pray for the Lord to give you peace and comfort.
Psalms 34:4 – I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Isaiah 41:10 – Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
2 Timothy 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
