1 Thessalonians 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

Obedience

February 27, 2017

What is the greatest thing that keeps us from obeying God?

Partial obedience is the answer. Read the story of Saul in 1 Kings 15.

1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

True Worship

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Joy Unspeakable

February 25, 2017

Are you planning a family reunion in the near future? What a wonderful time it is when families get together after a long separation. Sharing memories, seeing how the children have grown, sharing stories of the loved ones that have passed away. The reunion is something we look forward to. But there is an even greater reunion in a Christian’s future. That is when we get to Heaven. The first person we will want to see is Jesus. Then to be with loved ones again will be joy unspeakable.

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Diana’s Testimony

February 15, 2017

41 years ago I trusted the Lord as my Savior. Salvation is freely offered. It has been paid for through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. All you have to do is admit you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died for you and that he is giving you this opportunity to trust in him, then call on Him to come into your life. John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Romans 3:23 tells us that For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 5:8, But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 6:23,  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. And Romans 10:9 says, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  That is a promise from God.

Home Sweet Home

February 15, 2017

Coming home after a long trip is one of the biggest blessings. Going to another Country is wonderful. The sights, sounds, smells and people are different. As enjoyable as it is, it is not “home”. When the journey is almost over and home is getting close, your heart beats a little faster, your eyes take in the familiar surroundings and what a relief. You are finally home.

That is how we as Christians should look toward Heaven. This world is not our home, we are just passing through. Jesus has gone ahead to prepare a wonderful place for us. Our final “home”. Wherever you are in life today, joy or heartache, remember we are passing through and our final home is being prepared. What joy to look forward to our Home in Heaven.

John 14:2-3 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Valentines Day

February 14, 2017

Happy Valentines Day. If you have a spouse show special love today. If your love has gone on to Heaven then give thanks for the special relationship God allowed you to have. If you feel lonely today remember the greatest love you have is the Lord Jesus. He loves you with an everlasting love that will never end.

1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Salt and Light

February 12, 2017

Matthew 5 is about being distinct in character. How a Christian is to be clearly different from this world, noticeably different in a good way. This particular teaching was coming from the mouth of Jesus Himself. He not only said how we are to be distinct, but when we are, we are blessed with a true happiness & peace that only God gives. Plus He tells what we would obtain for being distinct. We are called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Christ urges us to be a good example. I challenge you to read Matthew chapter 5 and be determined to be distinct in this world and watch for your blessings.

Matthew 5:13-16 (KJV) Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Rejoicing

February 10, 2017

SOS Events Ministries has many reasons to rejoice. Every week at flea markets, fairs and other like events souls are saved. The wonderful thing about it is that we work as a team.

Usually one team member presents the “3 Things God Can Not Do” to an unsaved person and another soul winner tells the person how to be saved by sharing the ABC’s of salvation. God gives the increase.

If you would like to know more contact SOS: info@sosevents.org.

John 4:36 (KJV)

And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal:that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

My Sheep Hear My Voice

February 9, 2017

“My sheep hear my voice” is what the scripture says, not “my sheep can hear My voice” or “My sheep should hear My voice” but that they do hear His voice. Note also that God directs His voice to His sheep. He doesn’t say “My intelligent follower”, or “the popular or kind”. No, He says, “My sheep”. The sheep knows the sound, the inflection, of its shepherd’s voice. So we are to know the voice of God in our life as a Christian. How does God speak to us, His sheep? Clearly He speaks through His Word. Read it, study it, and listen to it.

John 10:3b (KJV) “…the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them… “

John 10:14 (KJV) “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.”
