Christmas is over, time to take down the beautiful decorations and keeping in our hearts the memories of Christmas 2021. It always makes me sad to put away those wonderful things that make Christmas special every year. As we put away the lights, tree, nativity sets, let us NOT put away the truth of Christmas, Jesus was born into this world to be our Savior, and it is our responsibility to tell others. So let us make a resolution to be better witnesses in 2022 and Serve Our Savior with more zeal than we ever had before.

Witnessing is a little more difficult because of the restrictions in some areas, but we can make phone calls, write notes and use social media to be a witness for the Lord. Be creative. Think of someone today who needs the Lord and pray for him or her, and then contact them. People need the Lord now more than ever.

Acts 26:22-23 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come. That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentil

Christmas Stockings

December 14, 2021

If you think about it, it’s a bit strange for someone to put goodies in an old sock. But like many Christmas traditions, the tradition of Christmas stockings comes from an old legend.

A long time ago (so the story goes), a poor man had three daughters and couldn’t afford to give them a dowry (money or goods given to the groom’s family by the bride’s family). In those days, it was very hard for a woman to get married without a dowry. A Christian bishop named Nicholas heard about the problem and wanted to help, but the man refused to accept money. One night, Nicholas threw three balls made of pure gold in through the open window of the man’s house. Each one landed in a stocking hung by the fire to dry. The next morning, each daughter found a gold ball in her stocking. With this bounty, they were all able to get married.

Stockings can remind us of the importance of service. The greatest example of service is Jesus Christ. He always “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38).

Take some time to think about the Savior’s selfless acts of service. How can you give Christlike service and show kindness to others this Christmas Season?

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

December is Here!

December 1, 2021

What a wonderful verse to start with for the month of December! God does supply all our needs.

Some people have abundance of money and material things. Others have very little. The Christmas season is a time for giving. It is not the cost of the gifts, it is the gift given from the heart that counts.

A phone call, letter or an invitation for a meal can mean more than the most expensive present in the world. Your time with your friends and family is the most meaningful gift you can give.

God wants the same thing. You can give a large offering, go to church or do some charity work, but the most important thing you can give to God is time to read His word, pray and then tell someone else about His special gift, the Lord Jesus.

Thankful for Old Hymns

November 23, 2021

The old hymns honor God. The melody is beautiful.

New songs sometimes miss the mark because the name of Jesus is not even mentioned. Some of them could be talking about anyone, a friend or spouse.

Let us be sure as we sing that the message in the song is true to the Bible.

Enjoy a verity of music but don’t forget the old hymns that truly honor our Savior.

Ephesians 5:19 – Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

Thankful For Christian Friends

November 20, 2021

There is a special bond between other Christians and ourselves. We have a wonderful family that may not be our physical relatives, but are spiritual brothers and sisters in Christ.

Today, be thankful for your Christian friends. Pray for them, encourage them and most of all show love to them. We are blessed to have Godly friends.

Good Morning!

November 4, 2021

Most of us start our day with a cup of coffee. The most important way to start our mornings though, is to spend it with Jesus. We must not neglect to read His Word and pray. That is a perfect way to start our day along with the coffee.

Psalms 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

People Need The Lord!

October 30, 2021

It is our responsibility as Christians to tell people about the Lord. We have the answer and today there is a generation who are not being taught about Jesus.

SOS Events volunteers notice it more and more at events. Young people have not heard about Jesus death, burial and resurrection.

This weekend is a great opportunity to witness to children and teens. Don’t miss it. When they come to your door for Trick or Treat give them something that is worth more than candy. Put a tract in their bag.

There is something else you can do. Pray for SOS Events volunteers as they are at many events throughout the USA today and tomorrow. People need the Lord.

Halloween, A Time To Witness

October 29, 2021

Halloween is a day that originated to ward off evil spirits with bonfires and sacrifices. This weekend is a time when children trick or treat and adults party. Some people love Halloween and others hate it, but however you feel about Halloween, as Christian we can use it to witness for the Lord.

If children come to your house for trick or treat be sure to give them a tract along with the candy.

SOS Events participates in many Halloween alternatives at churches and community events. Diana (our office manager) sets up a “3 Things God Can Not Do” display in her yard every Halloween and has seen many children, teens and adults come to know the Lord in the last several years. Be a witness and use this opportunity for God’s glory. Also please pray for many souls to be saved on this weekend, the busiest in the year for SOS Events all around the USA.

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Beware!

October 21, 2021

This time of year people think about ghosts, goblins and witches. Halloween is just 10 days away.

The real enemy is the devil, who tries to keep you from trusting Jesus as your Savior. The enemy is after your soul.

If he has not succeeded in his plan to keep you away from Jesus, then Christian beware, he will use doubt and discouragement to keep you from serving Jesus and you will become ineffective in your Christian life.

We need to put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:11-17.

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Sunday Worship

October 10, 2021

Sunday has turned into a day when most people do everything but worship God.

Shopping, sports, amusement parks, work and every other thing that takes place instead of going to church and worshiping the Lord!

Worshipping God should be our first priority, not only on Sunday but every day of the week. Put GOD first.
