Now that all the festivities of Christmas and New Years are over it is time to get back to a regular routine.
The best way to start that routine every week is to be in church.
Many people for whatever reason have stopped going to church. They may watch it online or TV but to actually go seems to hard or to difficult.
Why is it important to go? God tells us to go in His Word. We need the spiritual strength of one another. In time of trouble we have no one to turn to if we do not have a Pastor that cares about us.
Today, decide to make church a priority.

Many people will be celebrating New Year’s Eve tonight drinking, going to parties, etc., only to start the New Year with a headache and hangover. We can start our New Year with a clean heart.
Christians take time this evening to pray for forgiveness for the unconfessed sins that we have committed.
If you have never accepted Jesus as your Savior there is no better way to start a new year than becoming a new person in Christ.
Happy New Year. May 2025 bring you and your loved ones peace and joy that only the Lord can give.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

How you speak and what you speak is important! Are your words acceptable in God’s sight?
We need to be careful how we speak. It is easy to say the right things when everything is going well and we are surrounded by other Christians. But what about in the times of stress, anger, hurt feelings or another situation that is not pleasant.
Do we speak with anger or sharpness. Maybe we take out our frustration on spouse or children. That is not the way God wants us to react.
How can we overcome the sin of speaking out words that we know we shouldn’t say. This verse gives us the answer. The meditation of our heart.
Read God’s Word daily. Meditate on what He is telling us. Pray and ask God to guard our lips.
What we say and how we say it is important. Thankfully God is quick to forgive. Ask His forgiveness. Also, apologize to the person you may have hurt with your unkind words.

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
We need to pray for our Country for unity. Whatever political party you identify with, you need to pray!
Unrest, violence and accusations are prevalent in the country now. We need peace.
Only God can calm and bring sanity back. We can help by praying and choosing the candidates who will honor God and the principles that are in the Bible.
It is important that we do not add to the current situation by repeating the media narratives that cause the unrest.
Then make sure you do your duty as a citizen and get out and vote in the upcoming election.

This is something that we should never forget. The day the World Trade Center was destroyed.
Our country is always under attack. Not only by enemies from other countries but by those who are citizens that want to destroy our nation from within.
Today, STOP and PRAY for the USA. Pray for pease and unity in uncertain times.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

There is an old hymn, written by Fannie Crosby, Draw Me Nearer.
1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Refrain:
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine. [Refrain]
3 Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend! [Refrain]
4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee. [Refrain]
We all need to get closer to God. Today, use this hymn as a prayer to our God and Savior, Jesus. Think about His sacrifice on the cross. His death, burial and resurrection. He did that for you and me.
Lord, draw me nearer to You today.

On the TV program, “Family Feud” hosted by Steve Harvey, the question was ask of 100 people.
Family Feud: “Name someone you have to be nice to even though you don’t like them.”
Answer #5: “Pastor”
Steve Harvey: “How are you going to church and don’t like the Pastor?”
That is supposed to be funny, however, that is a very serious question for a believer.
In all seriousness, as your Pastor prays and prepares to stand in the gap to deliver the Word of God, I encourage you to pray for him, support him, and pray God does a mighty work through him!
Jeremiah 3:15 – And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Right now in America there is a lot of political unrest. Who is the best candidate to be the best solution for the problems we face.
The basic problem is that as a Nation we have forgotten God. God has been taken out of our schools, erased from public places and even our churches have replaced His power with programs.
Jesus is the Lamb that the book of Revelation in the Bible tells us about. Our true hope for our country and our homes and families is Jesus.
So, get out and vote for the candidates who will honor God’s principles. But put your Hope in Jesus. He is the only One who can bring peace to America and to you personally.
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Revelation 7:17

That is a good question. Is your treasure in a bank? Stocks and bonds? Real estate? Gold or silver?
God does not say it is a sin to have these things but the question is do you live for them? Is your goal in life, I want more money, property or things?
God says, Love the Lord with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. Maybe you love yourself more than others.
Are you willing to share what you have to bless others. Someone less fortunate than you?
The greatest treasure you have is knowing Jesus as your Savior. Do you share Him with others by telling them about Jesus?
Today, the challenge is to ask yourself, “Where is my treasure?”
