How to Be Happy

March 31, 2019

Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Belize Salvations

March 30, 2019

SOS Events Ministry is expanding. One of the volunteers for SOS Events traveled to Belize recently. Took a small Spanish visitation board and some tracts and had a great harvest of 80 people trusting the Lord for salvation. What a wonderful blessing.

The desire of this ministry is first to have people saved, then to have volunteers who use every opportunity to witness. The “3 Things God Can Not Do” is the simple plan of salvation that is effective and brings souls to Jesus, with many languages in various countries. Praise the Lord for all the souls saved. Many times we do not know about the Salvations but God blesses and we are thankful for every new Christian.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Tennessee Team Training

March 29, 2019

The SOS Events Team In Tennessee is growing with new volunteers. Everyone practiced with the “3 Things God Can Not Do” display board and the A, B C’s of salvation. A special thank you to Bill and Pat Newsom who hosted the training and Ron Burlison, who drove over from Alabama to help. This team is planning for new events for the spring and summer. May God bless them with many souls as they work in many events.

1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Saturday Blessings from Alabama

March 25, 2019

Great day at Lee County Flea Market sharing Christ with SOS Events Ministry!! We had to overcome some obstacles the enemy tried to throw at us but our God was bigger!! We were blessed with 7 people accepting Christ as their Lord and Savior and planted a lot of seeds with 375 tracts being handed out and 234 people coming in front of “3 Things God Cannot Do” board to be presented to. We had several people come by to encourage us and share their story with us and a young man pray for us . The Lord was glorified throughout the day and His presence was felt as we shared the Gospel. There were 3 others who were not ready to surrender their lives to Christ today but they will be prayed for as God waters the seeds that were planted. Thank you to Wes and Beth Walker, John Balint and Carl Norton for their faithfulness to this life saving ministry.

John 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

God Answers Prayer

March 5, 2019

SOS Events had a wonderful day at the Florida Strawberry Festival yesterday. In one 4 hour shift there were 37 Salvations. People from all walks of life, all ages and from different places but they come to Strawberry Festival to have fun. Then God touches their hearts, they come into the booth and make the most important decision of their lives, to ask Jesus to be their Savior. God answers the prayers of the volunteers and others who have a desire to see souls saved.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Praise God

March 3, 2019

Many have heard from Chaplain McCabe’s own fire-touched lips, how this grand old doxology, that has doubtless been on more lips than any other uninspired production, was sung by the starving “boys in blue” [Union soldiers in the American civil war] that were incarcerated in Libby Prison [Richmond, Virginia]. Day after day they saw comrades passing away, and their numbers increased by fresh, living recruits for the grave. One night about ten o’clock, through the stillness and the darkness, they heard the tramp of coming feet, that soon stopped before the prison door until arrangements could be made inside. In the company was a young Baptist minister, whose heart almost fainted as he looked on those cold walls and thought of the suffering inside. Tired and weary, he sat down, put his face in his hands and wept. Just then a lone voice of deep, sweet pathos, sung out from an upper window—

“Praise God from whom all blessings flow;”

and a dozen manly voices joined in the second line—

“Praise Him all creatures here below”

and then by the time the third was reached, more than a score of hearts were full, and these joined to send the words on high—

“Praise Him above ye heavenly host;”

and by this time the prison was all alive, and seemed to quiver with the sacred song, as from every room and cell those brave men sang—

“Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.”

Psalms 30:12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Social Media

February 28, 2019

As Christians we sometimes complain about social media, but it is something that is also a great blessing. A way to keep up with family and friends. Sharing good news and photos. A way we can rejoice with those who have good news and comfort those in sorrow.

Let us use the media to honor and glorify God and share the “Good News”. We have an opportunity in our lifetime that was not even available just a few years ago. Praise the Lord for this wonderful way to communicate with one another not only locally but all over the world.

Romans 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Family

February 25, 2019

Today take a moment to me thankful for your family. You may have a small family or a very large family. Spouse, children, grandchildren and others. This poem is what family is…sharing joys and sorrows, good times and bad. Sticking together even if we don’t agree. Earthly family is important in our lives and one of our greatest blessings.

Christians have another family. The family of God. We should have the same love and care for our Christian brothers and sisters as we do our biological family. God expects nothing less from each of us.

John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
