Praise the Lord

June 16, 2020

This verse and photo is a reminder that we should Praise the Lord in all circumstances. After a storm we often see a beautiful rainbow. God always brings sunshine after the rain.

He also, brings good things into our lives no matter what storm we may be going through. So today, look for the rainbow that God is sending to you.

New Horizons and The Main Thing

June 15, 2020

SOS Events continue to move forward while many things in this world are at a standstill.

Last week Carolyn Curtis was finally able to travel to Nashville, Tennessee from Florida. She combined the trip into visiting family and then meeting with new missionary, Ronnie Burlison, his wife, Connie and William Slater, SOS Events board member. ( William is Carolyn’s son)

The meeting was successful as many plans for the moving forward were discussed. Ronnie will be going to Mississippi to find new events and train many churches to partner with SOS Events. He will also expand new areas in Northern Alabama.

A new soul winning tool is being developed. Details to come. One of the most important things discussed was how to reach college age people to spread the gospel. New ideas that are exciting.

God is moving SOS Events to bigger things. Please pray for events to open soon. New things are great but the heartbeat of the ministry is to see people come to know Jesus as their Savior. We must never loose sight of the main thing.

John 15:16 – Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Jesus is Our Shelter

June 11, 2020

Are you going through a storm in your life? Jesus is our shelter. The Bible tells us many times not to fear. Cast all your cares on Jesus because he loves you and cares for you.

I Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Priority

June 9, 2020

God’s Word and your prayer should be the priority in your life. Get up 15 minutes early everyday to spend time alone with God and your day will go much smoother. If you are not in the habit of having devotions early in the morning, try it and see how you will be blessed.

Jesus Loves Little Children

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Do You Have 2 Birthdays?

June 1, 2020

Today is cofounder of SOS Events Ministry, Carolyn Curtis, birthday. She was born 82 years ago and has had great life. But, that is not her most important birthday.

She has 2 birthdays. The first was her physical birth. The second was her spiritual birth over 60 years ago. That was the day she realized she was a sinner and there was no hope for her unless she asked Jesus to be her Savior.

We have no choice on the day of our physical birth, but we have to make a choice if we want the second birth. The question is, Do you have 2 birthdays?

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Showers of Blessing

May 28, 2020

Yesterday, God sent literal showers but, He also sent the special blessing of 2 salvations at the Plant City Flea Market.

SOS Events faithful Wednesday workers got a little wet. They Praise the Lord for God’s showers especially the 2 salvations. What a blessing to be able to go to an event again to win souls.

Prayer

May 23, 2020

Today when we want to communicate via phone we have freedom to talk (or text) anywhere, anytime without having to be in one place to use the phone as this child in the picture. Prayer is like that. We do not have to be in a specific place only able to speak to God in church or at a designated time of day. God is always ready to hear our prayers directly without any person, place or thing. Jesus is the reason we have a direct line to God.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
