Tom is home from the hospital and a nurse comes to the house to treat the wound on his foot. Paul was one of the nurses.
He said he is one of only 6% of all the nurses who are male and Tom was blessed to have him come to the house. As they talked the conversation turned to the subject of salvation. Tom as usual handed Paul a tract and asked him if he had ever seen the “3 Things God Cannot Do”
Paul said he had never heard about the 3 things.
Tom told him: 1. God cannot lie. Titus 1:2. 2. God cannot change. Malachi 3:6. 3. God cannot let anyone in heaven unless they are born again. John 3:3-5.
Then he asked Paul if he had ever been saved. When Paul answered “No” Tom proceeded to explain the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
Paul bowed his head and invited JESUS to be his Savior.
Romans 8:38 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
JESUS gave us the answer to how to live by the 10 Commandments.
Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
“If we are to have hope amidst all the menaces and threats of today’s world, it has to be a sturdy and well founded hope…..
It is essential that we recapture and hold fast the New Testament idea that God is the “God of hope”. He is either a present help or He is not much help at all.” J.B. Phillips
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
As founders of SOS Events Ministry, Tom and I are so grateful to the faithful workers and volunteers who continue to do the work of the ministry when we are not able to be in the office or at events because of Tom’s health problems.
God’s work continues, souls are getting saved and the ministry is growing and will continue to flourish because of the great staff, Board of Directors, office workers and volunteers that God has used to keep everything running smoothly. A good example is the 17 souls that made decisions to follow JESUS at the Plant City Flea Market on Wednesday. Pictured below is Randy with 2 boys who were saved at the Flea Market.
2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Roxanne is a nurse in the hospital where Tom Curtis is being treated. The first day that Tom was there he led Roxanne to the Lord. She once again is his nurse 5 days later and you can see the joy on her face as she now knows JESUS as her Savior.
Tom jokingly said that everyone of SOS workers and volunteers should have a stay in the hospital because it is a mission field.
Psalms 51:13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Do you have joy in your life? There is a recipe that does not fail.
JESUS first. OTHERS second. YOU last. JOY……
Sometimes we are tempted to complain and feel sorry for ourselves. The past 5 days have been spent in the hospital as Tom waits to be healed of an infection in his leg. What a great opportunity to practice the recipe for joy. He has had 4 roommates in these 5 days. Every one has been witnessed to and prayed for.
All the nurses have been given tracts. One of them, Roxanne prayed to recieve JESUS as her Savior. Another sweet nurse, Gladys, is so excited to take information to her pastor. All eight doctors have heard Tom’s amazing testimony and have been given a tract.
Instead of long sad countenance each person who comes into the room is greeted with a smile from both Tom and Carolyn. Spreading joy brings joy.
Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
One of Tom Curtis’s favorite verse is Romans 8:28. Being in the hospital is not always the most pleasant experiences, but Tom is not ever going to let an occasion to witness pass him by.
One of the nurses, a woman from Jamaca originally, was taking care of him and he asked her if she had ever invited JESUS to save her. This was after they had talked about the Lord at length.
She replied that she knew about JESUS but never had trusted Him to save her. In that hospital room, Roxanne, bowed her head repented of her sin and ask the Lord to forgive her. There is rejoicing, even in circumstances that are not easy.
Please pray for Tom as he is a diabetic and has a circulation problem in his feet that may require surgery. Also, he is scheduled for his heart pacemaker to be changed, but that will probably be put on hold until his foot heals. JESUS is the great physician and can heal. Thank you for your prayers for him.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Please pray for founder of SOS Events ministry, Tom Curtis. He is having some health problems and appreciate your prayers.
James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
