15 reasons why Christians do not win souls
- Christians have no sense of urgency to reach lost people.
- Many Christians and church members do not befriend and spend time with lost persons.
- Many Christians and church members are lazy and apathetic.
- We are more known for what we are against than what we are for.
- Our churches have an ineffective evangelistic strategy of “you come” rather than “we go.”
- Many church members think that evangelism is the role of the pastor and paid staff.
- Church membership today is more about getting my needs met rather than reaching the lost.
- Church members are in a retreat mode as culture becomes more worldly and unbiblical.
- Many church members don’t really believe that Christ is the only way of salvation.
- Our churches are no longer houses of prayer equipped to reach the lost.
- Churches have lost their focus on making disciples who will thus be equipped and motivated to reach the lost.
- Christians do not want to share the truth of the gospel for fear they will offend others. Political correctness is too commonplace even among Christians.
- Most churches have unregenerate members who have not received Christ themselves.
- Some churches have theological systems that do not encourage evangelism.
- Our churches have too many activities; they are too busy to do the things that really matter.

JESUS is in the news and featured on TV this week. There are several movies, documentaries and discussions about Him. He becomes the popular subject for debate this time of year, especially by newscasters who most do not really know who He is.
It is sad that only 2 times a year, Easter and Christmas that people talk about Jesus. Even CHRISTIANS are guilty. We should be talking and witnessing about Jesus everyday of the year. Without Him there would be no hope of Heaven, no forgiveness of sin and no real joy in our lives.
Christian, let us put JESUS the main subject of discussion 365 days a year. He will give us the power to witness of His great love, death, burial and resurrection.
Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

A wonderful report from Pastor Romero (right). Over thirty people made decisions for Christ at the Flea Market in Lakeland in the last 2 weeks. This Pastor and his wife, Maria, have a burden to see the Spanish speaking people of this area be saved.
SOS Events is blessed to have a dedicated Hispanic pastor partnering with the ministry. He also, has a burden for the English speaking people. He is bilingual but many in his church are not. He prays for more Engish in his church while we at SOS pray for more Spanish.
His comment was, “We are a team, we work together.” The love that this man and his wife have for souls and other Christians is truly from the Holy Spirit.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:35

The least we can do for JESUS is to hand a tract to someone. SOS Events can supply you with simple tracts that are effective tools for bringing someone to Christ.

- This photo was taken at the Plant City Farmers market that takes place every Wednesday. Randy Thomas (left) with a new convert. The look on both their faces radiates the joy they both feel. The young man is happy because his sins have been forgiven and Randy is joyful for the privilege of leading someone to the Lord. The people that come to the Lord at this Farmers market is increasing every week.
- Please pray for many new converts and also for more volunteers, particularly someone who speaks Spanish.

Marie is a mature lady, probably in her early 60’s. She has been a Christian for many years and has served the Lord faithfully. Church secretary, Sunday School teacher (for very young children), and a blessing to her friends and family, but had never won a person to the Lord.
The one thing that kept her from being a witness for Christ is that she Is painfully shy.
Staff from SOS Events came to her church to teach soul winning and to witness at a county fair.
The Pastor asked for volunteers to go to the training and sign up for a shift at the fair.
Marie wanted to do as the Pastor asked but she could never talk to strangers, she thought.
She did follow though, however, and her turn came to work in the booth at the fair.
The SOS trainer sat beside her and 2 young girls were brought to the table.
Marie would say, “what do I say now?” And the trainer would guide her through each step to led those girls to JESUS.
Both girls prayed and invited JESUS to be their Savior.
Marie was so excited. She needed a little more instruction but before her shift was over she had led several more people to Christ.
On the following Sunday, the Pastor asked for testimonies from the people who had worked at the fair. He said, “I will not ask Marie because I know she is to shy to come up and speak before the congregation.”
Marie spoke up, came up and gave a glowing testimony of how she was changed from being to shy to witness into a bold soul winner for Christ.
Soul winning not only changes the new converts life, it changes the person who is witnessing life.
Many Christians like Marie are to shy or afraid to witness for Christ. If you are one of them, SOS Events ministry can help through training, prayer and the Holy Sprit’s power. You too can become a bold witness for Christ.

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Every year at Strawberry Festival SOS Events has new soul winners. This event lasts 11 days, twelve hours every day. There are four people in the booth on each shift for a total of 132 plus staff that oversees that everything runs smoothly.
Some of the volunteers have never witnessed at a public event and they feel uncertain and even a little fearful. Then they start to see God move on the hearts of people and many come into the booth to be saved.
Those volunteers who were unsure that they wanted to work in the booth get so excited that they now call and ask to work again.
Soul winning not only changes the new convert’s life, it changes the person’s life who is the witness.
There have been many Christians who have never led a soul to Christ, that now are dynamic, bold witnesses for the Lord and several have become leaders, trainers and missionaries with SOS Events.
Ephesians 6:19
And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Great Report from new missionary Pastor Romano, twenty-one souls saved at Farmers Market in Lakeland, Florida this past weekend. All of the converts were Spanish.
Pastor has begun a new Hispanic Church in Lakeland. The church has only been open for a few months and the attendance has been low, however, Sunday the church had a record attendance of 50.
The difference? Winning souls at the Farmers Market.
This is an answer to prayer, not only for that church but also for SOS Events.
This area has a huge Spanish population and to have a Spanish Pastor and his people witnessing at this Farmers Market is a great blessing.

Great things happen when witnessing at events. One of the favorite events is Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida. The following story is from that event in 2008.
One exciting thing happened with two young boys who came in the booth to be saved. As Tom was filling out the card (we get name, address, age, phone # and a short testimony from each person who makes a decision) the 2 boys came back, each one holding the arm of their mother. One of the boys actually pushed his mother into a chair so Tom could tell her and their father how to get to Heaven. Both Mom & Dad received Christ and what a joyful time that was for this family of 4.
You can participate in the event by praying for SOS. Pray for souls and for workers. The 11 day event opens next week February 26.
Matthew 9:38
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
