Home Sweet Home

February 15, 2017

Coming home after a long trip is one of the biggest blessings. Going to another Country is wonderful. The sights, sounds, smells and people are different. As enjoyable as it is, it is not “home”. When the journey is almost over and home is getting close, your heart beats a little faster, your eyes take in the familiar surroundings and what a relief. You are finally home.

That is how we as Christians should look toward Heaven. This world is not our home, we are just passing through. Jesus has gone ahead to prepare a wonderful place for us. Our final “home”. Wherever you are in life today, joy or heartache, remember we are passing through and our final home is being prepared. What joy to look forward to our Home in Heaven.

John 14:2-3 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Citizenship

November 5, 2016

The forefathers of the USA gave us many freedoms when they wrote and approved the Constitution, but the greatest freedom of all is freedom from sin provided by Jesus when he shed His blood to pay for our sins. It is a great blessing to be a citizen the USA by being born in the Country or to apply for citizenship. To become a citizen of Heaven we must be born again.

John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Joy in Heaven

October 14, 2016

Sometimes we are disappointed when only one or two people get saved at an event. Wednesday at the flea market in Plant City, FL there were two decisions. The weather was beautiful and we were praying for that event. Then we remember this wonderful Bible verse:

Well Done

September 12, 2016

This past week, Rick, Grace and Evie (son-in-law and 2 daughters) helped Carolyn Curtis paint the inside of her home. It was a long tedious job and took an entire week before the job was completed but the work and effort was entirely worth it. The transformation of the home after many years is amazing. A job well done.

When we meet Jesus, He will look at the work we have done for Him here on earth. Will His comment be to you, “Well done, thy faithful servant” or “Depart from me I never knew you”?

Born again Christians have a responsibility to Him to obey and do the work He has called us to do. Unsaved people sometimes do “good works” thinking that is enough to get them into heaven. When I stand before Him, I want to hear, Well Done. How about you?

Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

2 Saved at Flea Market

August 25, 2016

Isaac, age 20, and a young lady, age 23, called on the Lord yesterday at the Plant city flea market! God is truly amazing!

Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Reunion

June 27, 2016

This past weekend was spent at a reunion with friends and family. What a blessing to share the good times we had together many years ago. It is hard to say good bye to some of these people we are thinking we will not see them again this side of Heaven. But, what a reunion that will be when we all get to Heaven and have eternity to spend with first of all our Savior Jesus and then with our loved ones who have gone on before.

A few people did not come to the school reunion and we missed them. Think of how sad it will be to be in Heaven if friends or family are missing.

Conclusion: Christian, witness to that friend or relative who is not saved. You would be surprised at how many are waiting for you to invite them to be saved.

Unsaved friend, you do not want to miss the great Reunion in Heaven when you die. Make sure of your salvation today.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

The Right Choice

June 22, 2016

Yesterday, I had the privilege of flying to a destination on a jet plane. What normally would take 14 hours to drive took only a little over an hour on a reliable plane. There was a momentary fear when I overheard the pilot say, “Oh no.” After a temporary power failure. Everything was back to normal in a few seconds and the trip was uneventful. I reached my destination safely.

This made me think of the examples on the website of the 3 planes. If you don’t know these examples go to the home page a scroll down until you see the pictures of 3 planes.

Everyone wants to go to Heaven but many people are trusting in the wrong “plane” to get them there. Trusting in Jesus death, burial and resurrection for payment for your sins is the only way we can reach our destination, Heaven. Have you made the right choice?

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

New Heaven & New Earth

May 29, 2016

“I have read the last page of the Bible, and it is going to turn out alright.” Billy Graham

Revelation 21:1&2 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

God’s Promise

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
