Rules

March 2, 2018

SOS Events has some simple rules that are to be followed when witnessing at an event. Years of experience, common sense, prayer and God’s Word were important in the planning and setting guidelines for the team members to follow when working at an event. Rules are made for the protection of the workers, the ministry and most importantly the people we are witnessing to. Sometimes there will be someone who think they can bend the rules or just ignore them. This can cause problems. For instance, the Rule: We must get parents permission to talk to children. If we do not follow that rule it can cause a parent (rightfully) to be upset and we loose opportunity to witness to that family. We as Christians have rules or ordinances to follow set up in God’s Word for our protection and fellowship with Him. Rules called ordinances are a good thing for us to follow.

I Peter 2:13 & 14 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

Positive or Negative

February 27, 2018

Everyday we can make a choice to be happy, sad, peaceful or angry. Our attitude can make a difference in our lives but it also can have a good or bad influence on others. If we hear from someone and they are sharing good news it makes us happy but if we are around people who are negative it effects our attitude for the day. Let us decide to be a positive influence on people we are in contact with today. We can make their day.

Proverbs 15:13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

President’s Day

February 19, 2018

Today, is Presidents’ Day in the USA. No matter what our political affiliation is, wherever we live or how we feel about our leaders in government, the Bible is very clear on what we need to do for those in authority. It is our responsibility to pray for them. If every Christian would pray for the President , Vice President, Congress, Governor and local leaders we would be doing what the Lord expects us to do. So the challenge today is to take just a few moments and pray for our leaders. There are many people from other countries that read this blog, and you also need to pray for your political leaders.

1 Timothy 2:1&2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Good News

February 17, 2018

Do you ever get tired of watching the news on TV or social media? There never seems to be any good news, only news of wars, violence and scandals. As Christians it’s our responsibility to get out the good news to everyone that we can. The good news is the gospel, that Jesus Came into the world, died on the cross and rose again. His blood cleanses us from all our sin if we accept Him as our Savior. We can tell people that we meet, we can hand out tracts, we could invite them to a Bible study in our home or invite them to church. The important thing is that we do something to get out that good news.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

God Speaks

February 7, 2018

Without communication there is no relationship. We speak to God through prayer and He speaks to us through his Word, the Bible. What would happen to our marriages or our relationship with our children if we never spoke to them and they never spoke to us. Our marriage would be over and our children would go astray. We need to read our Bible daily so we don’t stray away from God.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

SOS Events Needs You

February 6, 2018

SOS Events Ministry needs workers. There are events that we have the opportunity to be in but sometimes we have to pass them by for lack of volunteers. How sad when people do not have the opportunity to be saved because Christians will not spend 3 or 4 hours at an SOS Events booth witnessing. If cannot physically come to an event, you can still be a great part of this ministry by praying that the Lord will send forth laborers. Also, you can support the ministry by giving financially. The time is getting short an people Need the Lord. Volunteer to help SOS Events however you can.

Matthew 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

Music

February 5, 2018

“My heart, which is so full to overflowing, has often been solaced and refreshed by music when sick and weary.” ― Martin Luther The Bible has a lot to say about songs and singing. The music we listen to affects us spiritually and emotionally. It can soothe a crying baby, expresses our worship to God, sets the mood for romance and is very important in our lives. There are many different kinds of music for people of all ages, preferences and ethnic backgrounds. We must choose carefully what music we listen to as it will affect all areas of our lives.

1 Chronicles 15:16 And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with JOY.

Reaching the Lost

January 25, 2018

SOS Events Ministry partners with local churches to train Christians to win the lost. The goal of SOS Events is to reach the USA and beyond with people who want to win souls and go out into the marketplace to find them. Most people today will not come to church to find out how to get to Heaven. We have to GO and reach them where they are. Want to be a soul winner? We want to help. Contact the home office for more information.

Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Work vs. Handouts

January 23, 2018

The Bible has a lot to say about working and providing for yourself and your family. Unless we are too old, too sick, or a caregiver for children or someone in our family we should work. If you cannot find the job you are qualified for take anything until something better comes along. A young man could not find a job and came to do hard outside work for SOS Events. He was not only on time but would come at least 15 minutes early. He worked diligently for small pay. We prayed and within a month he had a great paying job where he made an excellent wage plus benefits. We sure miss this hard worker. Christians, GOD will supply.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Children Your Heritage

January 19, 2018

If we have children and grandchildren we are abundantly blessed. God tells us that they are our heritage. Sometimes they make us so happy and other times they hurt and disappoint, but God has given us the most wonderful gift and also with that responsibility. If you have children in your life the first thing you need to do is be a Christlike example. Love them unconditionally. Then pray for them and pray for them (duplicate on purpose). The devil is a roaring lion waiting to devour them.

Psalms 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
