SOS Events Ministry is coming into the busiest time of the year. Fall Festivals, Races, Fairs and many other events take place between now and the middle of November. Soul winning volunteers are desperately needed in all areas. If you have been a volunteer in the past but have not participated in awhile please say yes when you are contacted to work an event. You may be someone who would like to win people to the Lord at events. God is calling you. Contact the home office at 813-494-7512.

Have you ever been waiting for an important letter or package to come and it seems like forever? It may be from a friend that you haven’t seen in a long time, or the passport or official document you need before you upcoming trip, or that special outfit for a special occasion. You check the mailbox everyday without anything except useless ads. Finally it’s here. What joy and relief. It was worth the wait. God tells us to wait on Him for things we need and ask Him in prayer. Waiting is hard but God’s timing is always perfect.
Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

There are many things that get us excited and make us happy in life. Wedding plans, a new baby, success in business, when our team wins at a sporting event and many others. But, there is one thing that should bring joy and excitement in our lives as a Christian. Winning someone else to come to know Jesus as their Savior.
SOS Events gives opportunity to be a soul winner to everyone who has a desire to get out into the market place and win souls in a simple, non confrontational way. Come join the SOS Events team. Let’s get excited about Jesus. He came to seek and to save those who are lost.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Lightning strikes during a storm and the power from that causes the power to go out in our home. Two kinds of power. The huge powerful lightning bolt and the power of electricity the gives light in our home but can be interrupted by a storm.
What kind of power do you have in your life? Huge power that God gives us through the Holy Spirit or do you do things in your own power that can be interrupted by circumstances or fear? We have access to the great power God promises. Do you use it to be a witness for Him?
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

As our children in America go back to school soon, what we expect them to do? Learn, be obedient and respectful to their teachers and make good friends. How much more should we as Christians become as children. God wants us to study His Word, be obedient to Him, respect our pastors and teachers and have fellowship with other believers. Are you His child?

Our lives can change in a split second. Maybe it’s a phone call that a loved one has been rushed to the hospital, an accident or a unexpected death of a family member. Whatever the emergency as Christians we have someone to give us direction in that time of uncertainty and stress. Jesus is with us and will guide us through. Don’t panic but look to Him first. Stay calm, pray and trust that whatever the problem He is with you.
Proverbs 3:56 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Have you ever been on a trip, in a hospital or just visiting but you are longing for home? There is an old saying “Home is where the heart is”. How true. We can be in any place and still feel at home if we are surrounded by people we love. As Christians we should be long for HOME. Our heavenly home where we shall see Jesus and be reunited with family and friends who have gone one before us. However, while we are still traveling this earth we do have our loved One Jesus, who is with us 24/7 no matter where we are. So, today, wherever you are you can feel at home with your Comforter and Friend Jesus but looking forward to the day when we will reach our Heavenly home.

This story may or may not be true, but it is something to think about. As Christians we must be careful how we treat others. Sometimes our attitude, especially at church can make a huge difference in another’s life. Are we friendly, kind and helpful to those who come to church? Do we make visitors feel welcome? If someone is alone do we offer to sit by them to make them feel more comfortable? Look around and see if you can be the difference in someone’s life at church today.
Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

This LITTLE twig caused great problems in the SOS Events home office. The air conditioner stopped working in Alice’s office. The compressor came on but the fan did not work. In 90 degree heat an air conditioner is a must. Before purchasing a new one, Tony, Diana’s husband, came to take a look. When he checked the fan he found this LITTLE stick blocking the fan. Problem solved.
Many times in our Christian lives we allow LITTLE things to spoil our joy and relationship with others. The Bible tells us that LITTLE things, like the tongue, cause great problems. Let us determine to not allow LITTLE things to ruin out testimony or our relationship with God and others.
James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
