Keep It Simple

September 17, 2022

“Jesus made everything so simple and we have made it so complicated. He spoke to the people in short sentences and everyday words, illustrating His messages with never-to-be forgotten stories.”Billy Graham

SOS Events method of winning people to The Lord follow the simple way that Jesus used to bring people to salvation.

The “3 Things God Can Not Do” is simple, short and easy to understand by people of all ages. Also, we go where the crowds gather, fairs, flea markets, yard sales, wherever there are people.

It works. In 21 years over 80,000 decisions have been recorded. There is always room for more soul winners. You can learn this simple way and SOS can supply everything you need to get started. Contact: info@sosevents.org

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Are You Making A Difference?

September 16, 2022

Adrian Rogers had some great sermons which are still recorded and broadcasted on radio and YouTube. His message on soul winning is one of the best I’ve ever heard.

This is what he said about Christians who use the excuse they don’t have the gift of soul winning. “Soul winning is not a gift, it is a command.”

He also said that 90% of Christians have never even lead one person to the Lord. The tragedy is that most Christians don’t even care.

This is a sad commentary and it must break God’s heart. Jesus came to earth, was crucified, buried and rose again that people may be saved. How about you? Are you making a difference?

Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. James 5:20

Power or Programs?

September 8, 2022

“We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little. Many services, but few conversions; much machinery, but few results.” – R.A. Torrey

Our churches have become a place for programs instead of powerful preaching. Buildings instead of blessings. Entertainment instead of enlightenment.

Pray for revival in our hearts first, then in the pastors and finally for souls to be saved. Let us get back to power of the Holy Spirit that we may see true revival.

God Made Today! Rejoice!

August 31, 2022

There have been days that I have not felt like rejoicing. During times of illness of myself or loved ones. When my spouse went home to be with the Lord! Grief.

But, God’s Word tells us to rejoice. Is it possible in difficult circumstances. Yes, if we have a true relationship with the Lord Jesus, He gives us the ability to rejoice in our hearts.

Do we shed tears? Of course, but we have a Savior that gives us inner joy and peace through the most trying times.

So today, if you are having a good day or a difficult day, stop, rejoice and thank the Lord for His blessings.

Heading Home

August 26, 2022

When we are on a journey, business or pleasure, the one thing we look forward to is heading home.

As Christians we are on a journey through life. God gives us many things that are for our pleasure. Family, friends, homes, good food, clothing and many things we can enjoy.

God also gives us work to do for him. Love for others, church, witnessing for Him. Many opportunities to do service for the Lord.

However, we should be longing for Home. Heaven. Are we headed in the right direction? We have a roadmap to follow. That is the Bible, God’s Holy Word.

It is important to check the roadmap on a trip, but more important to check the Bible everyday to keep us on the right road.

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16

Calling All Youth!

August 22, 2022

SOS Events is calling out to young people who love the Lord and want to learn how to witness.

When you were really little did you learn the nursery rhyme “Mary had a little Lamb.”?

If you did, you can learn how to witness using the simple “3 Things God Can Not Do”

Witnessing is for everyone. SOS EVENTS NEEDS YOU!

Maybe you are a student still in high school or college. You may be just starting out in life looking for something that has real value. Telling others about Jesus is the best thing you can ever do. You will be storing treasure in Heaven for eternity.

Pay Attention!

August 3, 2022

Do we really pay attention when we read the Bible or do a Bible Study? Are we ready to believe everything someone tells us about God’s Word?

Yesterday there was a mistake in the Reference to the Bible verse in this blog. Did you see it? Is there really a book in the Bible called coronavirus? NO!

The reference should have been Corinthians, but in haste the reference was not checked. We need to pay attention when studying God’s Word.

Someone did catch the error and actually the staff of SOS Events laughed over this mistake. We do apologize for the error, but it has taught us a lesson.

My Jesus I Love You!

July 29, 2022

1 My Jesus, I love thee, I know thou art mine;
for thee all the follies of sin I resign;
my gracious Redeemer, my Savior art thou;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

2 I love thee because thou hast first loved me
and purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree;
I love thee for wearing the thorns on thy brow;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

3 I’ll love thee in life, I will love thee in death,
and praise thee as long as thou lendest me breath,
and say when the deathdew lies cold on my brow:
If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

4 In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore thee in heaven so bright;
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow:
If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now

This is an old hymn written many years ago by a young man, William Featherston, only 16 years old. What a great gift to future generations.

However, today in many churches the old hymns with heartfelt meaning are no longer sung. How sad.

Can you join with me an say “my Jesus, I love you.” He loves you.

Call On The Lord, Jesus

July 21, 2022

Jesus is waiting with open arms to welcome you into His family if you have never invited Him to be your Savior.

Many people think that everyone is a child of God. It is true that He created every person, however, you are not His child until you accept Jesus as your Savior.

Call upon Him today. There will come a time when it may be too late.

Thank You To SOS Events Supporters

July 19, 2022

Thank you who give to SOS Events Ministry. Founded in 2001 this ministry has documented over 80,000 souls who have made decisions to follow Jesus. There are some of you who have prayed, volunteered and given financially since the very beginning. Others are new supporters.

Contributions come in snail mail with checks or even cash and there are those people who prefer to give through PayPal. The amount varies from one time large gifts to the little ladies who may send a dollar or two each month. Every donation is appreciated and used to win souls to Christ.

The only paid positions in SOS Events are the small office staff. All others from the President of the ministry to volunteers who spend their own money many times for travel and even cost of events receive nothing from SOS Events except prayer and appreciation. There are a few missionaries who receive designated support and every penny goes directly to them.

Some of you who read this blog may be “turned off” by the subject of money but it does take money to function and win souls in today’s economy. If you have never given to SOS Events but would like to give, every donation large or small is appreciated and will be used to win people to the Lord. Go to the home page and click on the donate button or send via snail mail to SOS, P.O. Box 189, Dover, FL 33527.

If you cannot give financially you can do something even more needed. Pray everyday for the staff, volunteers and most of all for lost souls to be saved.

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
