When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are no longer the person we were. Our sins have been forgiven and we should be changing and growing.
Old sinful habits should be distasteful to us. Maybe it is bad language, temper, an unforgiving spirit or some other sin that we need to get rid of.
As we read the Bible, listen to godly music, go to a good church where the preacher speaks the truth from God’s Word or it may be that still small voice in our heart. These things help us to grow and become that new person God wants us to be.
Carolyn Curtis son, William is running for office in Tennessee. Her request is that you will pray for him and other good conservative candidates that they will win in this upcoming elections.
They need prayer and financial support. Also, help with campaigns. It is important that every citizen votes. Local elections are important for the future. National candidates come from local governors, senators and others who do a great job on the local level.
There is something special about old hymns. This one has the whole gospel in one song. Jesus died, was buried, rose again and will return. He did that all for you and me.
One day when heaven was filled with His praises, One day when sin was as black as could be, Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin— Dwelt among men, my example is He! Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Refrain: Buried, He carried my sins far away; Rising, He justified freely forever: One day He’s coming—O glorious day!
One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain, One day they nailed Him to die on the tree; Suffering anguish, despised and rejected; Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He.
One day they left Him alone in the garden, One day He rested, from suffering free; Angels came down o’er His tomb to keep vigil; Hope of the hopeless, my Savior is He.
One day the grave could conceal Him no longer, One day the stone rolled away from the door; Then He arose, over death He had conquered; Now is ascended, my Lord evermore.
One day the trumpet will sound for His coming, One day the skies with His glory will shine; Wonderful day, my beloved ones bringing; Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine!
We are free from sin, justified and we will be with Him and our loved ones again! Glorious Day!
Sometimes we are in a place where we can not pray. We may be ill depressed or discouraged. Maybe we are in the middle of something that is sinful. God knows all of our problems and He is waiting for us to pray.
Be honest with God. He has the answer. Tell Him that you do not feel like praying and ask the Holy Spirit to pray for you. The Bible tells us that Jesus is making intercession for us. We can’t hide our thoughts from God.
But, thank Him for loving you and understanding. God wants our praise even when we are unable to pray.
Soon the time of prayer will return and our relationship with God will be even better.
The Bible tells us a lot about how and when we should speak.
Proverbs 21 gives great advice, we will stay out of trouble if we keep our mouth shut. Angry? Sop! Say nothing. Wait and allow time to cool off before we address the subject.
Ephesians 4:29 – Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
James 1:26 – If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
1 Peter 3:10 – For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
These are great verses, and there are many more, that teach us to be careful how and when to speak. God will bless us abundantly if we can ask Him to help us to speak kind, encouraging words.
Sometimes we let things in our past keep us from moving forward.
The sins, the tragedy or poor relationships keep reoccurring in our mind and we feel depressed or unable to do what we know we should to get on with our life today.
God does not want us to dwell in the past. He has forgiven all our past sin, He wants to comfort our broken heart and heal relationships that have been ruined by pride or unforgiveness..
If anything is keeping you from a joyful, productive life give all of the past to Jesus and move on.
Philippians 3:13-14
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Filipenses 3:13-14
There is a little figurine of 3 monkeys, the first has his hands over his eyes, the second, hands over his ears, and the third, his hands over his mouth.
See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. Good advice for us. If we are careful what we watch and hear we will think before we speak.
The Bible tells us what we speak comes from what we meditate about in our heart. Hid God’s Word in our hearts and our speech will be pleasing to Him as well as to those we are speaking to.
Salmos 19:14 – Sean gratos los dichos de mi boca y la meditación de mi corazón delante de ti, Oh Jehová, roca mía, y redentor mío.
Sometimes we cannot see good in the situation we are in. Maybe it’s illness, accident, loss of a loved one. In our finite minds we can not understand why things are happening to us.. But, GOD will turn even the worst tragedies in our lives into something good if we will trust Him to bring it to pass. It may take time. Even months or years. Then we look back and we can see how He uses these tests in our lives and turns them into testimonies.
What we think about controls how we live and react to every situation in our lives. God tells us in His Word what we should think about. If we think about things that make us not trust God, we become worried and fearful. One verse tells us how to overcome anxiety. Let us decide today to think on good things and ask God to help us to think about the things in this verse that will bring peace and joy into our lives.
When we praise God. He will show up. When He shows up, it will change our thinking. If we change our thoughts, we change our life.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
En esto pensad -Por lo demás, hermanos, todo lo que es verdadero, todo lo honesto, todo lo justo, todo lo puro, todo lo amable, todo lo que es de.Filipenses 4:8
